For those of you who don't like the new pottermore you should try myhogwarts. Founded in 2007, myHogwarts is an interactive Harry Potter website where members are sorted and attend Hogwarts, taking classes and competing for the House Cup. Features of myHogwarts include Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, the Ministry of Magic, Quidditch, duelling, and the Quibbler. myHogwarts also contains sections for book and movie discussion, trivia, fan fictions, and role playing, as well as general chat among members. Live the magic at myHogwarts! The link is http://myhogwarts.com/pages/home/ if you would like to join.

I'm actually not sure. I haven't really done much on the website (I just copied and pasted the description). But if I remember correctly when you go to the home page there should be something in the bottom right corner.

Jess | 3 comments myHogwarts is a fully immersive Hogwarts experience - so the Sorting Hat is actually a member who will contact you when sorting begins.

If you're new to myHogwarts, our Student Guides will walk you through the process of becoming a member!!!

http://myhogwarts.com/pages/guides

1. Validation - First you'll need your account validated. Mainly, this means passing Flying, but you'll also need to make a signature and avatar and do some posting around King's Cross.

2. Sorting - Before you're sorted, you'll need to purchase your supplies (in Diagon Alley, of course) and register for classes. Once you've done these things, the Sorting Hat will contact you when sorting begins. :)

Do the courses have homework?

message 7: by Jess (new)

Jess | 3 comments Yes, there are short weekly assignments. As a student, you'll register for a minimum of 3 classes. Many classes offer some interactive lessons, where you work with other students to accomplish a task.

Jess | 3 comments The school year is 10 weeks long. This includes 8 weeks of lessons with a one week break halfway through, and exams at the end. Then, the year is followed by a 3 week summer, when students are able to participate in summer camp in Little Whinging.
