message 2: by Alex (new)

Alex (alex1320) | 10 comments I envy people who have chance to buy it. I have to wait till 22nd of october (premiere in my country) ;(

Ravenpaw/claw~Raise a Glass to Freedom (ravenpawclaw) | 677 comments I get it at some point today or MAYBE tomorrow. Should I read it? Is it bad? Does it ruin the series?

message 4: by Alex (new)

Alex (alex1320) | 10 comments Wouldn't you read that even if it does?

Ravenpaw/claw~Raise a Glass to Freedom (ravenpawclaw) | 677 comments Maybe? I don't want it to ruin it...but yes. Yes I would

message 6: by Saara (new)

Saara Sen-Basuchoudhary I would, too

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Kate (kate-holly) I finished reading it a couple of hours ago! I am making a review at the moment which I will post tomorrow. I am still deciding how many stars to give it. Unfortunately, it won't be a very favourable review! :S

message 12: by Alia (new)

Alia (alia_gf) I haven't got it yet, but I REALLY want to read it

Ravenpaw/claw~Raise a Glass to Freedom (ravenpawclaw) | 677 comments I just got it! I will read it ASAP, which is as soon as I get home!

I finished reading it a few hours ago. It was good, I guess but I gave it 4/5 stars only because it was good to learn more about what had happened to the old characters. It did not the same AMAZING writing style of the other books. And I personally love lots of details in books and because it was a script it could not have all of the details that I love in Jk Rowling's books. I am sure that it was an amazing play, but as a book, it was not quite worth all the hype.

My mom is driving me to the next town over to get the book today! My town doesn't have a bookstore.

Ravenpaw/claw~Raise a Glass to Freedom (ravenpawclaw) | 677 comments Almost finished. Page 307. Harry is afraid of pigeons! Did you know that?

Ravenpaw/claw~Alas! Earwax! You're just as sane as I am (-Luna Lovegood) wrote: "Almost finished. Page 307. Harry is afraid of pigeons! Did you know that?"

Nope!

Ravenpaw/claw~Raise a Glass to Freedom (ravenpawclaw) | 677 comments I can tell you two of his other fears. The dark and small spaces, those two make sense because of living in a cupboard for 10 years

message 20: by sangita (new)

sangita S Finished..awesome start and then somehow it looses steam after act one. Lots been said about it being a play. Somehow the difference seemed trivial to me.

Ravenpaw/claw~Raise a Glass to Freedom (ravenpawclaw) | 677 comments It got much better at part two in my opinion! What with Dephi...

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

I loved part two as well! I found it really heartbreaking when (view spoiler)

message 24: by Laryssa (new)

Laryssa | 6 comments I loved this book so much! I've read it like 10 times already

Ravenpaw/claw~Raise a Glass to Freedom (ravenpawclaw) | 677 comments Lol. I will read it agqin

message 30: by Ember Air (new)

Ember Air (air-bear967) I loved this book! I read it twice the day it came out. I've been dying to talk to someone about it, but no one around here has finished it!

I was a theatre major, so that maybe part of why I loved the script format. I felt that it made it faster paced, which i enjoyed because it reminded me more of the first three books, rather than than the last two. It included almost everything I had hoped to hear.

I read it twice the day it came out too :) It was just so good!

message 32: by Ember Air (new)

Ember Air (air-bear967) I felt that it included a bunch of stuff that people had hoped for in their fanfictions.

message 34: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli I think that while it had some wonderful moments, and Scorpius was a delight, it didn't hold together well.

message 35: by Saara (new)

Saara Sen-Basuchoudhary Yea

message 36: by Megha (new)

Megha | 96 comments I didn't think HP and the Cursed Child was the best......it was a little eh.....

message 37: by Julia (new)

Julia Megharin wrote: "I didn't think HP and the Cursed Child was the best......it was a little eh....."

Ya I agree. Plus the part with the trolley lady was just not Harry Potter.

message 38: by Audra (new)

Audra Thompson | 6 comments I'm not too far into it yet. I think the writing could be better; however, it lets me relive the magic a little.

message 39: by Francesca (new)

Francesca | 460 comments I was really disappointed with this book which I'm gutted about. The story was quite fun but there were so many plot holes and I thought the characterisation of most of them was terrible. I consider it as a fun fan fiction but I don't consider most of it canon. The only things I accept as canon are Scorpius Malfoy and Draco being a good Dad.

message 40: by Julia (new)

Julia Ya I was so disappointed. Especially with the Ron character. He was nothing like J.K. Rowling first wrote him.

message 41: by Jo (new)

Jo Drye (jodrye) | 2 comments I agree with the Ron thing. And I never pictured Albus being like he was!! I think they got lots of characters wrong. And the trolley lady? What was with that??

message 42: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli Albus's character was inconsistent with the books. Even with his only appearing one scene.

message 43: by Isadora (new)

Isadora Do you think it can be a movie ? There are rumors about Warner turning it into one. Do you think it would be nice ? Maybe better than the book ?

Ravenpaw/claw~Raise a Glass to Freedom (ravenpawclaw) | 677 comments I'd like a movie

message 45: by Jo (new)

Jo Drye (jodrye) | 2 comments Apparently they want to make it a movie trilogy

message 46: by Julia (new)

Julia It depends on there casting and how well they put the scenes together. The Cursed Child I think could be a great movie. But it could also be a disaster.

message 47: by Jo (new)

Jo Drye (jodrye) | 2 comments Yeah

message 48: by Mary (new)

Mary Catelli I think its flaws are not medium-based.

message 49: by Isadora (new)

Isadora Julia wrote: "It depends on there casting and how well they put the scenes together. The Cursed Child I think could be a great movie. But it could also be a disaster."

Johanna wrote: "Apparently they want to make it a movie trilogy"

A trilogy ? :O
Maybe Julia is right: imagine if the movie is terrible and we have to watch 3 of them? It could ruins HP series =/

message 50: by Megha (new)

Megha | 96 comments yeah totally!!
