Russell Perry (russellperry) | 6 comments Hi all,
I'm Russell, and I'm the author of two novels based on reincarnation, "The Returning" and the sequel "Murdering Point", the former being my first novel. It was inspired by a dream I had, which is outlined in Chapter 2. As in the book, the dream was so clear, and I remembered the detail so vividly when I woke, that I started thinking "What if?", and the book (and series) was born.

Welcome, Russell. Always good to meet another author who delves into reincarnation and from what to me, here in Tucson AZ, is an exotic corner of the globe. Since you work with the paranormal, I invite you to check out the Visionary Fiction Alliance, a group of diverse writers dedicated to the evolution of human consciousness through the fun medium of the novel. I think you'll enjoy the company.

Russell Perry (russellperry) | 6 comments Thanks Victor, I will do that. I have projects in other genres, but speculative fiction is where I have the most enjoyment.
I look forward to our connection.
It is exotic, even to me, particularly the northern tropics, which I left many years ago.

Stephen Weinstock (1001series) | 11 comments Hello, Russell and Victor. I am also an author who's working with visionary fiction and 'karma lit.' I noticed your Goodreads notes a while back, but before I got a chance to respond I was doing some Internet research and came across your websites independently. Thought you'd like to know that search engines are guiding viewers to you.
My novel is 1001: The Qaraq, Book One of The Reincarnation Chronicles. Check it out on goodreads. It concerns a group of people who recall past lives, and puzzle out their relationships through time. Let's keep in touch, though my locale in New Jersey lacks the warmth of Tuscon or Oz. It does have its exotic side, though.
Yours, Stephen Weinstock

Hi Stephen--
Welcome to the discussion. Hope you too will check out the VFA website given above as there the discussion is more lively and regular.
I did time in NJ (Princeton area) and on NJT commuting to NY. It does have its exotic side--if you have a good sense of humor!
Will check out your book. Quite interested in the phenomenon of group reincarnation and use it some in my work.
Might I suggest that you hyperlink your book when you mention it. Makes it easier for the reader to jump there.

Stephen Weinstock (1001series) | 11 comments Victor,
Thanks for the note. I like the VFA website very much and will try to join in once my school job winds down in a week or so. I like the mission: while coming up against traditional genres it's nice to see like minds that are creating a brave new genre my book might fit.

If you did the Princeton commute, you'd have to have a sense of humor, riding the Dinky to and from campus.

Yes, please check out the book. I thought the title might get hyperlinked via goodreads but I guess not. See if either my website, goodreads page or amazon page url works as a hyperlink here:

Russell Perry (russellperry) | 6 comments Hi Stephen,

Sorry I missed your message on the 1st. Your book looks very interesting. I marked it to read and will get to it ASAP.

Stephen Weinstock (1001series) | 11 comments Thanks, Russell. I will do the same with The Returning.

I have very pleasant memories of visiting the Great Barrier Reef, and spending a beautiful week just north of Cairns. Yes, what a great place to grow up. A bit more heavenly than Detroit, Michigan, though I'm proud Detroit been in the news so much these last couple, miserable years in its history.

Alysha Kaye (alyshakaye) | 1 comments Hello all:)
My debut novel, THE WAITING ROOM, is releasing July 1st! Based on reincarnation and like Russell's novel, it was also inspired by a dream! Hope you check it out.

Stephen Weinstock (1001series) | 11 comments Congratulations, Alysha! Welcome to the growing niche of reincarnation fiction authors. There's a lively tradition of crossing romance with reincarnation themes, going back to Anya Seton's Green Darkness, one of the first books I encountered when I was researching the genre for my first draft. Though my book's not strictly a romance, THE QARAQ updates Scheherazade, who's a mighty romantic character in her way. Good luck on your debut!

Franki Demerle (frankidemerle) | 20 comments Sorry, Russell, but I'm reading my mail backwards. I see your book titles & will look for them. So if you get this reply first, there's a previous one to your latter post. I figure since you're also a reincarnation author, you understand my problem with chronological time :)

Roz Morris (rozmorris) | 2 comments Hello guys!
First off, I can't remember if I've already introduced myself here. I'm mostly baffled by Goodreads and somewhat overwhelmed by the wealth of choices, forums and conversations, so if I'm repeating myself, I do apologise. I certainly don't intend to spam.

I have a novel that looks at reincarnation from the other end of the telescope - My Memories of a Future Life. I love the potential of reincarnation stories to pose questions about the hidden forces in our lives. In this case, I wanted to explore what it would be like if you were experiencing your next 'stop' and what that might mean.

The narrator is a pianist, which means she is often enacting a process of reincarnation. Interpreting a piece of classical music requires you to tune into the composer and speak through you, channeling what they did in their hearts and minds as they wrote. When a mysterious injury stops her playing, she literally loses her ability to live -which is why she gets embroiled in such a strange story.

As a spin-off from the novel, I created a blog series where I invite writers to post about using music in the creation of their novels. All genres are welcome, but if any of you reincarnation authors would like to post you'd be in sympathetic company.

Anyway, here's the novel (ebook, pb and audiobook) https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

And here's the blog series (The Undercover Soundtrack) http://mymemoriesofafuturelife.com/

Stephen Weinstock (1001series) | 11 comments Hi Roz,
Thanks for your post: the book and blog look great. You can check out my rein novel from above links on June 2. I use a combination of memories of past lives and precognitions of future lives in the narrative. With the new physics' approach to Time, we should be able to go anywhere, right?

I very much like the premise of your blogsite, being a musician/composer who has turned to fiction. I just guest blogged on Fiona Kernaghan's site, with this article, http://goo.gl/Ea7GKe, on how former musical processes informed my writing years later.

One question for you: how did you amass all those reviews!
Stephen Weinstock

Hi Stephen
Gosh, it looks like you're well qualified to write about the meshing of writing and music. I've had a few musicians guest on the series before, including Bjork's drummer!

But this is getting off topic for everyone else, as they came here to talk about reincarnation fiction. Past, present, future, we're made of all of these and they're great story fodder. My second novel also deals with bringing the past alive and exploring the nature of memory and the soul - it's called Lifeform Three https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

Drop me an email if you'd like more information about guesting on The Undercover Soundtrack.
And as to your final question, there's no quick solution and I'm not a publicity whiz. I worked at it long and steadily.... and still am!
