Wow I can't believe it's August! I had a better week. I finished the second book in the magicians trilogy and also So You've Been Publicly Shamed which was a great read! Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Katherine (kiik) I had a somewhat productive week, considering all the craziness that is my life. I finally finished Cress (first name in the title), which had been put on hold for quite a while, as I waited to get it back from the library. I liked it more than the others; Cress and Thorne's story is definitely my favourite of the three.

I also read a novella, The McCall Initiative Episode 1.1: Deception on a day when I had a few sunny hours to kill. An interesting, fast read. If I can easily find the rest of the episodes, I'll likely work my way through the rest. I'm not gonna pay for a e-book that's less than 100 pages, though, so we'll see.

I also just started reading a 1,300-page monstrosity, so I'll likely have little to report for the next couple weeks. Wish me luck!

Charline (charline84) | 80 comments This year is going by so quickly, I can't believe it's August either!
Last week I finished 1984 for the Rory Gilmore challenge prompt. I didn't think I would like it, and it did take about 80-100 pages to get in to it. But once I did, I found it really interesting and though provoking.

Good luck Katherine, 1,300 pages wow!

Mandy | 89 comments Good evening everyone :)

I just finished And Then There Were Nuns: Adventures in a Cloistered Life which was a book club book that I'll be discussing tonight. I quite enjoyed it which isn't too surprising as I love memoirs in general. That's all that I managed to do these past two weeks. I want to read that public shaming book Tara, one of my biggest pet peeves is when people blast/threaten/intimidate others on social media. Good luck with the 1300 page monstrosity Katherine. Is 1984 a long book Charline?

Charline (charline84) | 80 comments Hi Mandy. Not too long, 355 pages. A slow burner, but I'm glad I stuck with it.
