SYNOPSIS:

I'm at chapter five...(view spoiler)[where Matthew's body has been found by Deborah. So much emotions already with Lynley heartbroken over Helen, Havers overwhelmed with her parents, Deborah's abortion and miscarriage and Simon with the miscarriage and distance from his wife and Matthew's parents loss and just overall death and how his body was found. (hide spoiler)] It is hard to put down. I'm going to try and read 5 chapters before I sleep.

Oh I know! This series reminds me so much as the Louise Penny series. It really is hard to put down with all the tragedy that is going on and it doesnt even stop.

I am only on Chapter 11. I might be wrong but I think that (view spoiler)[ the headmaster might have something to do with it. Also Harry Morant might know more and Byrne and his kid probly has something to do with it. I am really enjoying it. (hide spoiler)]

That's where I'm at too...so far those are my suspects too. (view spoiler)[something about Chas has me suspecting him as well. There seems to be a lot of sexual inferences...is that a hint or a red herring? And the way that kid described Havers was so brutal..pig eyes, unattractive, etc (hide spoiler)]

Lol! I was going to add that too. I just couldnt (view spoiler)[remember his name but with the sex inferences and the way he describes Havers is awful. Yes I thought that was a big clue. I tried looking through the book trying to find Chas's name but couldnt find it. (hide spoiler)]. Its great we are at the same chapter.

We are in sync...I'm going to try to get to 50-60% tonight as I have work and a friend's play to attend. But I have Friday off so I'm hoping to get through a bulk then.

Side note: do you want to try reading this series every second or third month?

That would really work out for me, because the books get longer.

I think it might be Chas, since he is the meanest and just awful, but then Mr. Byrne is the one that giives out the scholarships and there have been other murders in the past. But Chas and Mr. Byrne would be predictory. Now usually the one that they do not spend that much time interviewing or giving attention to in the book is the villian, so maybe Mr. Lockwood. He has been there the longest and might have something to do with it.

End of chapter 13. (view spoiler)[Wow what a twist! Mathew was found out past curfew and Brian Byrne never reported him missing during bed check. Lynley saw another dimension. If Mathew was out after curfew, so was someone else, since an older boy saw him. I am still clueless on who the killer is, lol! There are some clues though. (hide spoiler)]

I'm just at chapter 13 now and hope to also do an hour or so.

Let's start with every second and see where that goes and as they get longer we can push it back a month, lol.

(view spoiler)[True...and the suicide of Edward keeps coming up...was it suicide or murder. And if suicide was he forced...so many questions surrounding that. Also, it seems like most of the kids are "white" so does culture/race play in. I think now I am overthinking, lol (hide spoiler)]

I have tomorrow off so I am hoping I can finish it. Keep you updated.

Close to the end of Chapter 15 (view spoiler)[So Matthew was adopted and has the connection to Edward. So I am wondering now if Brian Byrne might of been really jealous of Giles love to Ed who was more of a son to Giles and killed him. Then when Matthew showed up Brian Byrne killed him. (hide spoiler)] I will probably have this finished Saturday night. I am reading the book and the print is so small. Ugh.

was bullied by a pediphile and Mathew used blackmail so itvwouldnt happen anymore due to the motto. Harry says that Chas Quilter did it which you were so right there, but what does this have to do with Ed and Mathew being the same race. I know thatbis a big clue. So I am now on the race to find the killer/pedophile because I dont have a clue. He did seem to be upset that Lockewood was there, when she showed up with the tape. So we will find our soon. I love Elizabeth George because she really knows how to write a good mystery and the character development is excellent.

Wow! End of chapter 21 (view spoiler)[ Wow! I thought I was way off but I was right it was all due to Brian Giles not getting enough love from his Dad. You were right also about Chas doing what he did to Matthew, which put everything in motion.. (hide spoiler)] I am really loving this mystery. I am almost finished.

Sorry for not coming on here last night but I just finished an hour ago. I came home from work and just read lol.

(view spoiler)[holy crap! I was changing suspects every second. I knew Chas knew something...I should have connected Brian but thought he would just be a pawn of Chas and Clive. I even thought the female teacher did because John was in love with Mathew. I knew Mathew was Ed's son as there were no other Asian characters. I really liked this book. Even if you got the killer right...it seems like you still wouldn't have gotten the true motive.

One thing that turned me off was where Kev beat up Pats and she forgave him so quickly. It was realistic I guess, but so frustrating lol. (hide spoiler)]

Thats alright for not coming on here last night. When I read I just like to try to guess the mystery. (view spoiler)[I was changing suspects also. I even thought that the female teacher did it also. I was really surprised when I got the suspect right, didnt get the true motive right, but got some of it right, was surprised that he did it to protect Chas, because his father never gave him love. The reason why I was surprised was because after I guessed it afterwards all these other suspects that I kept guessing came up. I even was a little embarassed because I thought it was too farfetched that Brian did it because he didnt receive the love from his father lol! (hide spoiler)]
