how do you market your regular books? how much of that marketing plan can be adjusted/adapted for audio?

There are many ways to market your audiobooks that have nothing to do with Audible, I don't know how Audible chooses Daily Deal and such but I know the authors & narrators have nothing to do with it. Maybe join some narrator groups on facebook or look for some audiobook classes many narrators & companies like ACX offer.

Audible's new releases page lists 1035 books and coming soon has 747 books listed I guess if your books aren't in that list email Audible and ask them why.

I am not a narrator/author/or in the publishing world just a blogger and librarian who has been around the audiobook world for awhile and I would suggest some classes maybe a give away or two because the best marketing you can get is good reviews and word of mouth.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Ray Perreault (rayjayperreault) | 31 comments Thanks for the comments. To add some fuel to the discussion. I'm just frustrated. I'm doing just about everything suggested. I have good ratings (4.3/5 on Audible and 4.4/5 on Amazon), but my sales don't seem to get any traction. I have a FB presence, a blog, and I've used almost 300 ACX marketing codes but I haven't found any effective strategy that results in sales. When I advertise on Audovoxx, I don't see any change in sales. I've read almost every comment regarding Audible Marketing and most of the advice is pretty basic. There are few (if any) places to place ads and they don't seem effective and I think Audible does a poor job supporting its authors.

Aside from all my whining, I'm having a great day :>)

Ray, have you tried an ad in Bookbub and/or one in AudiobookBoom?

Ray Perreault (rayjayperreault) | 31 comments I'm using AudaVoxx and will try others. I'm just looking into the new ad program within BookBub. I've used Audio Book Boom extensively and sent out close to 300 coupons. I've got great reviews and I add each of the reviewers to my email list. Aside from the positive impacts of the reviews, that doesn't impact sales directly.

D.J. Adamson (djadamson) | 3 comments Okay, I have questions.
Audible book has been up awhile, but I haven't had a chance to promote yet. I am using my codes now with BookBoom promotion. How do you get more codes to use? I can't find where I can buy them on audible. Any idea?
I will look at AudaVoxx.
BookBub is expensive.
Any other ideas other than the norms for promotion. Something one of you did that worked well.
Second and Third books are in audition now.
Writing next book.
Thanks, Dj

Stephen Mettee | 14 comments You might try HummingbirdDM.com. (https://hummingbirddm.com/information...) Hummingbird supplies a retailing platform to merchants including bookstores that allows them to offer the complete e-book and audiobook catalogs of thousands of publishers including PRH, HarperCollins, etc. It's free to add your audiobooks to the list and you can get unlimited codes for $1. You might even sell some via bookstores.
