The Garbage Dump is an area at the base of a waterfall which is covered in garbage. Similar to the rest of Waterfall, it is characterized by dark blue water and purple walls, but uniquely includes colorful garbage piles. There also is a single bed of Golden Flowers.

The following garbage can be found in the area:

A rusted bike
A beat up desktop computer
A cooler containing Astronaut Food
A DVD case for an anime with claw marks
Yellow Names

Alex (dreamunity) | 16 comments Junk. Just where they belonged!

A small sigh escaped the child as they sat on the bed of golden flowers in Waterfall. It was a quiet, somewhat serene place in the region - which was quite saying something as most of Waterfall was like that. But not many people came to the dump and truly appreciated the beauty of the place. That was also why that Chara had chosen this place, of all places to hide. There was only one monster they knew that frequented the place often - Alphys. There was of couse the Blook family and the mad dummy, but they didn't often go this deep in. Most of the interestimg trash was towards the entrance of this dump. But Alphys could come over here to search also - Chara had no way of being sure. But still, they were alone for now. And that was enough for them.

For a brief moment, they wondered if Frisk was looking for them. The other human probably was... they cared too much. Chara just wanted to be alone. Why couldn't Frisk see that and honor their wishes? How could they explain to their parents how they had been brought back to life? How could they break their hearta again? It was like Asriel said when he wished for them not to know... it was for te best. Hopefully, Frisk would listen to them for once and honor their wishes.

Either way... they were going to have to make a game plan. Monsters were free now. The barrier broken. They could flee wherever they wanted. But where to? Chara wasn't sure... after all, did they even have to eat? Drink? Were they some weird ghst with half a soul? Who the hell knows. Hopefully it... it wouldn't all be reset. That button, still in the menu, there anytime Frisk or them wanted to push it. It was a reminder of things better left unsaid. They hadn't tried opening the menu in a while... they didn't dare to look at the reminder. Too bad another reminder was going to bump into them.

Unknown Writer | 11 comments It had been a while since he's walked through waterfall, let alone into this part of it. Sans enjoyed the surface and all it offered, but... He just kept getting homesick. He smiled, noticing the cooler he recalled Frisk receiving one of their many food items at. He... He had a weird knack for following people; out of care... Most of the time. There were a few different "cases" that he didn't like looking back on.

This place was familiar to him for many reasons: some interesting, some... Upsetting. Sometimes here was just a place he could come and vent his cares away because not many would visit this odd place besides the one and only Alphys, sometimes with a pair of others from time to time if she was hanging out with other people; usually shortcutting made it easy to avoid confrontation here, especially since there was truely only one entrance to this area. Here was a place he could get away from it all, even in some of his... Dark moments. Darker, even, yet darker.

He stopped, seeing the endless cycle of surface garbage going down a waterfall, and into the abyss of nothingness below; he felt someone else's presence. Who else was down here? He sloshed past the cycle of trash, noticing a figure sitting atop the golden patch of flowers at the end of the garbage dump. He sighed, straightening up his posture before speaking. "Well, I'm not sure if you noticed, but I'm pretty sure this place is meant for trash, not people."

Alex (dreamunity) | 16 comments They paused as they heard a voice. Could it... They slowly lifted their gaze from the bed of flowers, red eyes staring at him. Now what the hell was he doing down here? They certainly hadn't expected anyone to be back here... why would they after all, since the barrier was broken? Yet here he was. Their eyes flickered to behind him. Had he come alone? Or was there someone else with him?

A small snort escaped them after he spoke. What? That was what he was going to start with? Slowly they rose to their feet, a small smirk on their lips. Not a true smile - just showing their slight amusement. "Personally, I would disagree with that notion, comedian. Both with the dump not being made for people, and that I am not trash myself."

Their smirk vanished, their eyes glinting in the darkness of the area. "Now, what are you doing here? I can't imagine you came here just to admire the trash - unless you are. Then be my guest and observe this ever lasting flow." They gesture with one hand at the stream disappearing into the oblivion below. Their voice was tinged with sarcasm, but their eyes never left him. Now what move was he going to make? It was like playing a game of chess - at least for them.

(arrgh, sorry for the late reply! Had to study for the PSATs, and school was just rough this past week.)

Unknown Writer | 11 comments Sans recognized the way the person talked, and now that he's managed to process who they were, he definatly figured out who it was. He didn't say much about who he recognized them to be, but responded. "I was homesick; surface is nice and all, but I just wanted to check out the place again..."

Just looking at the kid's face brought up bad memories, bad "dreams", of other timelines. Namely, the one he refered to as Genocide... As far as he knew, the ability to Reset was still a possibility, even after all of this... It scared him. It's been a while since the barrier was broken, so if one day he woke back up in his old bed with Papyrus ranting to him about sentry duty, he would probably lose his mind; if he hadn't already, that is.

He stood up straighter, his mind going back to the situation at hand. "... Since I've told you my reason, let me ask you, as well; Why are you down here? Barrier's broken. Why return here of all places?" He was mainly curious. Why wouldn't he be?

((My parents grounded me. I'm back now))

They listened silently to his reason. Maybe normally, Chara would have argued that it was a stupid reason - but they couldn't argue with that. "And no one else came with you?" They said, cocking their head slightly, their red eyes curious. It was hard to tell outwardly if they cared - but they did, in a way. They wanted to know - they were actually curious about how everyone else was.

They pause at his question, curling their legs closer to their chest. "... I don't have anywhere else to go." It was a simple answer - hadn't he figured it out? They look up, red eyes glimmering with something - regret, sadness? - before they looked away, a frown deep set on their face. "... I can't go anywhere. I can't go to my mom. Or my dad. Imagine that - oh, look, your kid is back - but not really. And it's just a reminder that your other kid is still dead." A slightly bitter laugh escaped them. "Yeah, right. I'm not causing them more pain for them. They've been through enough. And Mom has Frisk anyway... they don't need me."

Unknown Writer | 11 comments "Nope; just me and my thoughts..." Sans replied to Chara's first comment. He knew why it was that way, but he didn't add more until he listened to Chara's next short speech. He sometimes forgot that the demon that haunted his nightmares was just a kid that died long ago; he had no right to assume that's all they were. They, Chara Dreemurr, was the original Angel of the Prophecy everyone hoped for... Sadly for him, he couldn't remember that far back because of the Resets, but he did know well that was exactly what Chara was... A human child, just like Frisk, who sacrificed themselves in an attempt to save all monsters without the pain of being trapped for longer than they have now.

Sans reacted with a grin, a small chuckle leaving him; laughter was something that came easy to him for some reason. He chuckled a short bit longer before he spoke again. "... Sure, the world would continue without your interference, but then why are you here?" He began walking closer, his hands remaining in his pockets as he showed no intention to fight. "... I am homesick because I've lived here for a thousand years but a week has yet to even pass by on the surface and the underground itself... I've lived here my whole life without growing old... I'm so used to the underground that it's sickening that I keep coming back... But I do anyways... Why?" He stopped in front of Chara, looking at them with a masked smile. "I have no control of this world, I can't reset like Frisk can... I'm a simple character in a game... But why place me here when I don't do anything at all? Do I make something interesting? Do I actually have a reason to be here?" He glanced upwards. "... It took me a while... But I was placed here to explain the game. I was placed here to make the game interesting... A turn of events... So... Why were you placed here? Why would the concept of 'Chara' even exist? Hehehe... Who knows?" He smiled, crouching down in front of Chara. "...Someone needs you, whether you don't believe it or not... Or else... Why would you be here in the first place, and why would you still be here? Honestly... That comment has been the only thing keeping me sane throughout all these resets..."

Alex (dreamunity) | 16 comments Chara shifted once more, opening their mouth to say something along the lines of 'well, then you and your thoughts take a hike' before slowly closing it again. Maybe before they would have said it... but right now they just stayed silent, listening to his own speech, tilting their head slightly, red eyes shining with curiosity as he spoke. They had never really spoken before this, had they? Or at least not directly. It was interesting... it was different in a way. The only movement they made was scooting backward on the flowers as he crouched down, not meeting his eyes as a spark of something crossed into theirs again. A different emotion. One they would never admit to feeling. After all, there was nothing to be scared of... maybe. There was silence as he finished for a moment before they finally spoke again.

"... Never took you for the philosophical type, comedian." A small smirk appeared on their lips as they looked at him again finally, though it quickly died, being replaced by a deepset frown. "... I would call that Stockholm Syndyome if this was a person instead of a place." They pause again, picking at some green fuzz on their sweater with their fingers. "... I don't know why I was placed here. And honestly, I don't want to try and figure out the mind of that dog..." They shook their head, snorting at the very thought. If they could, one day they would try to wring that dog's neck for what he did. Maybe. If he dared to show his face in front of them. They'd at least kick his ass. "... Well, Asriel didn't. I certainly messed that up, didn't I? And... I guess... Frisk. They... probably would have died a hell of a lot more times if I hadn't been there giving information. Believe it or not, but I was there the whole time - giving helpful information. Whether I liked it or not, I was dragged through their whole journey each time. Translated signs for them from monster ruins, translated some Froggits speech, and more.... I guess that was my purpose. Helping them..." A small laugh escaped them. "And they needed it - seriously, they needed it... but now? They don't need it. They don't need me. No one does. I should stay down here. If my brother thinks he has to rot down here with no one here to help, then I should also. I don't belong up there... plus there'd be dozens of humans. Yeah, that'd be swell." They snort. "... How are monsters doing up there, though? Is everyone alright?" Despite everything... Chara leaned in, eyes searching. They cared. Somewhat. More than they'd like to admit. They wanted to know everything. They wanted to know that everyone was alright.. that things were working out. "... And no sign of a true reset from Frisk ...?" A question they had also been dreading to ask - Frisk. Someone they'd been attached to for so long... and now separated. It felt weird... and unsettling to not have someone to always talk to. They had been like that for so long... it was just weird for them. They wanted to see them... in a way. But Chara wasn't sure if the other kid even wanted to see Chara. Or talk to them. Or do anything with them now that the game was over. But here was a source of answers... right in front of her.

Unknown Writer | 11 comments Sans listened to the other, a grin appearing on his face as he did; he really wasn't a philosophical type all the time, but when it came to moments like these, he was normally that way. He sat down on the bed of flowers along with Chara, a chuckle leaving him. "The others up there? They've been enjoying the surface... Your parents are aiding Frisk while they are ambassador in decisions and clearing up confusion for humans... There's still a bit of struggle with bringing monsters back to the surface, but it's a good thing, because change has been happening... Some monsters still live down here, so this place will stay intact at least..." He turned his head to Chara as he continued talking. "Papyrus has begun driving... I'm greatful for humans being smarter than they look when it comes to the road as a result of that. Alphys and Undyne have been going out, as of obvious, and Mettaton has become a pretty popular monster among the humans, which is no surprise."

Sans finally got to he point to where he could answer the final question Chara had, and he hesitated as he searched for the words. ".... As of now, there hasn't been any signs of a true reset... But I fear the day that they get bored and do it without thinking twice... Everything we worked up towards... Gone in an instant." He sighed, shaking his head. "I'm not sure what's going on in their head, but let's hope that the day I fear never comes up."

Alex (dreamunity) | 16 comments "Puh-lease." They snort, leaning back slightly. "Humans have been always dumb when it comes to driving, always will be... but I'm glad for him. And all the others." It was a genuine statement. While they weren't in control, Chara had learned of the monsters that Frisk had faced, and knew them as much as the other kid did. Even if the monsters in return didn't know Chara. Red eyes blinked in slight confusion as Sans sat next to them... but this time they didn't move. "How are... how are Mom and Dad getting along?" It was another question they hesitated to ask. Just another thing to blame herself for... to look back and regret and knowing that they had altogether caused it.

They fall silent as he talked about the possibility of a reset. "If they do, I will personally kick this ass to the best of my ability - I mean, it'd be quite hard considering I am a ghost and all, but eh, I'll manage somehow. Or maybe just shout at them a lot in their head." They snort. "Honestly, wouldn't it be MORE boring for them to keep resetting? God, you can only squeeze so much juice out of a lemon after all..." They sigh. "I hope so too, comedian. Just... keep them occupied. I'm sure you can do a better job at that than me."

Once again, surprise filled their face. And with that, annoyingly enough, a small growl escaped their stomach, their face flushing slightly. "I would say no, but apparently my stomach disagrees." They snort again. "Uh... where? I imagine Grillbys has moved up to the surface by now... and NOTHING with spiders please." A small shudder ran through them. "Any other place you think is still open?"
