Dorothy (vilette) | 308 comments Hi, I met a woman today who told me about a mystery series in which the detective is a birder. She could not remember the author or any titles but she thinks that the title usually includes the name of a bird. She thinks the author may be a Canadian but sets his novels in UK. Does anyone recognise this?
Thanks.

Kajehas | 2 comments Steve Burrows fits the bill perfectly.
The series is the Birder Murder Mysteries.

Allan Jones Pity about the bird element requirement LOL. I am Canadian and have a series of ebook mysteries (mainly) set in the UK, in which the detective is an artist... and Welsh.
The Chinese Sailor (Catrin Sayer #1) by Allan Jones

Hi Kay. Allan Jones. There are currently four novels published in the Catrin Sayer Mysteries, The Chinese Sailor being the first one.

I now find myself engrossed in 'A Siege of Bitterns' ....

Another crime writer for me to look up! I've just picked up "a Siege of Bitterns" from the library and will be starting it when I have finished "The Darkness and the Deep" by Aline Templeton.
