To avoid me running late again, I am setting up September's BOTM suggestion thread now. I will post the poll on August 26th and leave it open until the 31st of August.
That said, September's genre is HISTORICAL!!!
Now because if the wide variance of historical YA's out of there I am opening this to any YA book set in a historical setting.
Here are my three suggestions and a few more to consider to help people think of other YA books :)
MY SUGGESTION:
The Clockwork Scarab (Stoker & Holmes, #1) by Colleen Gleason
Old Magic by Marianne Curley
Born of Illusion (Born of Illusion, #1) by Teri Brown

Other books to help clarify:
Venom (Secrets of the Eternal Rose, #1) by Fiona Paul
Witchstruck (The Tudor Witch Trilogy, #1) by Victoria Lamb
Palace of Spies (Palace of Spies, #1) by Sarah Zettel
The Musician's Daughter by Susanne Dunlap
Suspicion by Alexandra Monir

I think that should be enough to get us started. I will send out reminders to vote one or two times before the 21st! Until then, I will announce August's BOTM on a different feed, once the poll officially closes :)

Peggy Hawthorne | 82 comments Apologies, LH! I completely missed the existence of this thread.

I'm going to nominate one of your sample picks:
Suspicion

And also:
A Great and Terrible Beauty

We've already got a lot of interesting books to choose from!

Brookie Cowles | 13 comments I'll add The Luxe by Anna Godberson and A Mad Wicked Folley by Sharon Biggs Waller.

And my favorite of all books is a cute historical romance called Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson.

Those look great, Brookie!

Kate Dane | 20 comments I totally missed this thread, too! I don't really have a historical to add that isn't fantasy/other world, so I'll look forward to voting on the great suggestions.
