Isabelle stood in front of the Institute, just taking it all in. She knew what mundanes saw - an old abandoned cathedral - and some tiny part of her wished that was all she saw. Some tiny part of her wished she could be ignorantly oblivious to the fact that the shadow world even existed. Then maybe she wouldn't have gotten into messes like this. Then again, she would give up her life as a Shadowhunter for anything. "This is it." She muttered half under her breath and half to Aurae. Isabelle began her walk towards the Institute. She had big news. Unfortunately, Izzy wasn't sure the Clave would want to hear it.
Aurae began walking toward the Institute, and saw it for what it really was, the glamour fading slowly as they approached. "Wow, it is huge and beautiful?! Is this a temple to your gods?" They asked, as it clearly had some religious and spiritual importance.assuming the gates open for Isabelle, Aurae would be unable to pass them, like an invisible force field.
Isabelle turned towards them. "Sort of. They stand as a monument to the Angel, but I'd call it more of a safe place. Even for mundanes and Downworlders." Isabelle had so many fond memories of this place - training with Alec and Jace, feeling safe, the life she'd had before Clary Fray. Isabelle smiled at the ground. She walked up the steps and through the gates. A strong feeling overcame Isabelle - it always did - as she entered the Institute. Isabelle turned back to Aurae. "I'll take you to Jace. He'll want to hear about this."
Aziz appeared in this universe, standing in the shadows, looking for his next target. He enjoyed how dark this universe was. more homely than Pinkamena's but still not the same as his universe. His fists tightened when he saw Aurae with his target. that stupid little bunny. they should have been destroyed.
Assuming the gates opened for Isabelle
Aurae nodded and started toward the opened gates to the cathedral, only to be shoved back as electricity seemed to manifest between the two posts on which the hinges of doors hung. "Aw!" They cried out, as some of their fur was blackened and sparks flew. "I...I can't." They said, putting a paw to the empty space between the gates and was subsequently zapped again. The wardings prevented them from walking on the holy ground, treating them like a vampire or a demon. Aurae had no time to wait in the Sanctuary for this Jace to meet them. They felt a cold shiver go down their spine. Aziz...no...could it really be? Here? Already? Their heart sank, Aurae was too late.
Isabelle heard Aurae's cry and rushed back to them. "Aurae! Are you alright? What happened?" And then it hit her. To the magic that protected the Institute, Aurae might as well have been a demon. Isabelle cursed herself for being such an idiot. "I forgot about that." Aurae would have to wait in the Sanctuary. "I can take you to the Sanctuary. I'll get Jace. He'll understand." Isabelle paused when she saw Aurae shiver ever so slightly. Isabelle furrowed her eyebrows. "Is something wrong?"
Aziz stepped out of the shadows. His human appearance changed to his anthro wolf form. The little blue bunny would feel better that way. he laughed. "It's been a while. Aurae"
Aurae turned around and gasped, stepping back, and was thus zapped by the force field once more. "Aziz" They said, narrowing their eyes into sharp slits. "I won't let you ruin this reality as well!" Aurae said, as they had no idea what Aziz' intentions were, or that they were not destroying realities but rather kidnapping innocents. Aurae's moved their paws in a circular motions around each other, as if shaping and molding a ball out of energy.
Isabelle froze. This was Aziz? This was what Aurae had told her about? As if instinctively, Isabelle pulled her blade out, though she knew Aziz was no demon. Izzy edged towards Aurae, feeling safer closer to them. She watched almost transfixed as Aurae shaped a ball of energy in their hands. She understood why Solaris had chosen Aurae to succeed him. Isabelle gripped her blade until her knuckles turned white. A mix of adrenaline and fear was pumping through her veins.
"Out of my way prey. I have no quarrel with you right now," Aziz said. His only reason for being in this universe right now, was to take the girl.
Prey, such a derogatory slur. Sure, they were a rabbit and Aziz a wolf, but the implications of weakness and submissive inferiority behind the term filled Aurae with anger. It was things like these that festered under the rule of Oriax, Aziz had become the very thing he was trained to destroy. Aurae did a motion similar to a Hadouken, the ball of energy not built to harm Aziz directly, but force him back via a kinetic blast, to put distance between the two. Any damage done would have been because of Aziz falling and other variables beyond Aurae's control. While not entirely passive, LV magic could not harm directly without the cast suffering physical and emotional damage as backlash.
Isabelle shivered at the sound of Aziz's voice. It chilled her, fear gripping her. Isabelle almost wanted to reach over and grab Aurae's hand, just for reassurance, but she didn't. Isabelle just glared at Aziz. She could only imagine what Aurae must have felt - Aziz had taken everything from them, their home, their family - Isabelle had never felt that. There was Max, but he was one boy. Aurae's everything was gone. Isabelle looked towards the bunny, fear playing across her pretty face. "What do we do?" Was all she could ask.
Aziz jumped back to avoid the brute of the kinetic blast. It also allowed him to stay on his feet. He moved his hands, fire forming in great swirls. He sent a fire ball at Aurae. His attacks were more offensive and elemental orientated. Of course, fire also meant pain, and pain was Aziz's strongest forte in magic.
Crying out in fear, Aurae raised their palms up just in time to summon a kinetic force field, but the force of the balls of flame hitting the invisible wall of protection knocked them back, skidding on the hard, cold concrete, some blood streaked across the cement as a result. At least they weren't cook rabbit meat. Groaning, Aurae got to their feet again. "What are you doing here, what's your end game, Aziz?! Can't you see, you've become worse that that monster Oraiz!" They pointed out, "You killed Sol, and everyone else! Why, Aziz, why are you doing this?" Aurae couldn't believe Aziz was totally lost. LOVE had to exist somewhere in his heart, or else it would have turned to Stone, Ice, or Glass - like Orias' own Shattered Heart of Glass. There had to be some light, some inherent goodness, in him left.
Isabelle screamed as Aurae hit the pavement. She stood still, completely frozen with fear. Aziz was a monster, Isabelle saw that now. Aurae had done nothing to him, yet Aziz seemed to loathe them. Isabelle didn't know who Sol was, but she could tell they had meant a lot to Aurae. Isabelle rushed over to Aurae, wanting to help them. She knew there was very little she could do for them, yet Isabelle wanted to help. She didn't want to abandon Aurae like she had abandoned Max. Isabelle bit the inside of her cheek, trying to focus on the pain rather than the memory of Max. She brought herself back to Aurae, Aziz, and the situation. "Aurae? Are you alright?"
"I will pick off all the universes one by one. I will hold a member of each universe captive, to remind them, as I destroy their world, they are the only being from that universe left. and they will suffer. just like Solaris suffered because of his choice!" Aziz's rage grew. he ready another attack. this one pain based
mental pain - bad memories/guilt or physical pain- nervous system reacting?
Aurae stood between Isabelle and Aziz, "I will be once we stop Aziz...please, how can you do this? I loved you, they loved you. We all did. Why...all of this?" Aurae said, focusing another kinetic blast, if only Isabelle didn't think so loudly of Max, distracting their emotional equilibrium. It threw them off, as they felt Isabelle's traumatic memories.
Isabelle stepped back. She wanted to help, but she was too terrified to do anything. Isabelle just stared at Aziz, not able to understand how anyone could have so much hate. No one had done anything to him. No one had hurt him. No one had killed his family. The only other person Isabelle had known who was like this was Valentine. He was evil for the sake of evil. Aziz was evil because - well, Isabelle didn't even know. She swallowed hard, unsure what to do.
"None of you ever loved me!" Aziz shouted. He split the power of his physical pain attack sending two thirds of the full force at Aurae and the a third at Isabelle. The third of the power was the equivalent of the spell Aziz had used the first time he had caused Damian pain. This spell was three times stronger because of the hate making his blood boil.
It felt like fire on their skin, as if their insides were being boiled, microwaved, cooked. Aurae screamed as they fell to their knees, trying their best to psychically ward Isabelle to the best of their ability to keep her from feeling too much pain, although their own magic wavered due to the onslaught of painful energies hounding their body. "We all loved you, you fool. They all did, and you killed them!" Aurae screamed, for a short second, succumbing to HATRED themself. How could Aziz be so blind?! He was a hero, same as they were, but in the end they became worse than he whom they shattered.
Isabelle had never felt pain like this. She was screaming, sobbing, wishing for it to stop. Isabelle wanted it to end. She didn't care how. She could die, if just it stopped. Isabelle just made out Aurae's words through the ringing in her ears. Isabelle lay on the ground, trying to get up. Every move she took, pain shot through her. Isabelle knew Aurae would try to keep her from feeling to much pain, but they were the one who needed to survive. "Aurae! Leave me!" Isabelle choked out. She hadn't realized how hard she'd been biting her tongue to keep from screaming, and Isabelle spit blood on the pavement.
Aziz laughed. at first it was quiet then it grew louder and louder. a menacing laughter full of hatred. "You and your stupid LOVE. love never got me anywhere. it was hatred that made me stronger. I was always stronger than you. even in love. even more so now in hate. The fools are the ones that thought that they could Get away with their mistakes. well you're all wrong! Hatred is the strongest. and love is weak and fake" Aziz cast a mental pain spell on Aurae, making the blue bunny see and hear whispers, lies. things that told them they were never truly loved
when in content of FF, HATE and LOVE should always be capitalized so it can be distinguished from regular hatred and love, as they are the fundamental forces that drive FF's universe and magic. Akin to ying yang or positive and negative energies.magnetic pull that make up or reality.
Aurae had tears in their eyes when their boyfriend whispered such horrible things into their ears. Their ears drooped down, hope gone. Aziz should...should just end it. End the pain. He never loved them, he only wanted to be the one to bone the savior of the world. There was never any love between them. Their parents...the unborn child was of a better standing than they were, even if they saved the world from one monster, they helped birth another. It was all Aurae's fault, everything was their fault.
Isabelle saw the change in Aurae's face. What had that monster done to them? Isabelle crawled over to them, still in pain. "Aurae. Just hold on, okay?" Isabelle didn't know what she could do - the bunny looked so hopeless. Isabelle turned towards Aziz, fury turning her vision red. "What have you done to them, you monster?!" Isabelle screamed. "What did they ever do to you?" Once Isabelle had started, she couldn't stop. Aurae was innocent. Yet Aziz seemed convinced that they had ruined his life. Isabelle had seen that Aurae really was telling the truth - they had loved him. "Leave Aurae alone!"
"I have shown Aurae the truth. That they were never wanted for what they really are. LOVE is just powered by lies. HATE is where the truth is. Join me, Aurae, and we can be more powerful then Solaris could've ever dreamed!" Aziz said. This was why his heart wasn't stone or ice or glass. because somewhere deep deep deep inside that black pit of his, he didn't want to kill Aurae.
will post about HEARTS and the 4 different qualities of Glass/Ice/Stone/Coal
Aurae looked at Aziz in horror, "NO! That isn't t-t-true! HATRED is lies! It masks fear...sadness...guilt...pain. LOVE....LOVE is truth, honor, peace....unity." Aurae began to get to their knees, blood pooling from their nose and mouth due to the pain. They tried to cover their ears, only to find the voices came from within. "And I LOVE you, Aziz. Even after all you done. Your heart is still soft and of flesh, you can still be saved!"
Isabelle didn't know what to think. This was a war, and Aziz was more powerful. Isabelle rushed over to Aurae's side and tried to help them up. No matter what Aurae thought, Isabelle could see that Aziz was beyond saving. If Aurae ever joined him, unlikely as that was, he would only kill them. Aziz was evil, really truly evil. People like that couldn't be saved. Isabelle knew this. She just wondered if Aurae did.
"Foolish rabbit" Aziz said preparing to send Aurae out of this universe through force. His staff appeared in his hand. "I will spare you today. because killing you would be too kind. And so you can spread the word of my power. the time has come for all to fear me!"
suggesting Isabelle does between them to protect the bunny but gets kidnapped instead
Aurae tried to use empathy and telepathy to transfer the pain back to Aziz in hopes that he'd make it stop, so that Isabelle wouldn't be hurt anymore. Aurae's eyes watered, wondering if the spell worked, what voices would tell Aziz these horrible 'truths' of his darkest fears?
Isabelle couldn't stand it. She raced between Aurae and Aziz. She didn't care what happened, just that Aurae was safe. Besides what could he do to her? She'd suffered worse. "Leave her alone, you bastard!" Isabelle screamed. Aurae was her friend. Isabelle wasn't about to let Aziz kill them. Isabelle glared at Aziz, her fury making her blood boil. This was hatred, something Isabelle hadn't felt for a long time.
Aziz ignored the whispers. he always did. they were always there. This couldn't have been more perfect when Isabelle moved away from Aurae. "foolish girl" he chuckled. He almost jumped/darted forward, and grabbed hold of her arm. in that next moment they were gone.
Aurae screamed. Aziz had taken Isabelle, and what ever he was planning was already in motion. Aurae had failed. They had failed all realities! Aurae sobbed there, not knowing what to do. They began to head back to Pandemonium, to lose themselves to hedonism and lust to escape the pain.
