In case you were wondering... the youngest person to ever publish a book was Dorothy Straight. She was 4 years old when she wrote her book How the World Began and 6 when it was published in 1962.

Rejection is hard. Do you know how many times Dr. Seuss' first book was rejected before being published? Head on over to our Book Trivia Poll to take a guess!

What is everyone reading this week? I will admit, I've been horrible at reading. Real life keeps getting in the way. But I'm vowing to be better this week (you all will have to help me keep to that vow). I'm going to read Jane Steele, Ms. Marvel Vol. 1, and the new Harry Potter!

Happy Reading, everyone!

Jane Steele by Lyndsay Faye Ms. Marvel, Vol. 1 No Normal by G. Willow Wilson Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two (Harry Potter, #8) by J.K. Rowling

Ingrid Hurst (bookrdr) | 285 comments Real life has been getting in the way of my reading too. I do have a Linda Hamilton CD in my vehicle, but I'm not crazy about it. The Laughing Corpse. Of course since I'm stubborn I have to finish a book I started so I'm trying to push through it.
I'm reading The Testing which is good so far but still something I can put down.
We are going to be heading to Alaska and I really want to take something gripping with me. Any suggestions?

Ann (ann-fracturedfiction) | 516 comments It wasn't real life getting in the way of my reading, but my vacation (I went to Savannah). I did finish reading Night with a Seal and the next two books in the series (Saved by a Seal and Sealed at Midnight) by Cat Johnson. I'm still working on the Last Jews in Berlin but not very quickly. I'm not sure what to read next, probably one of the mound of books I brought back from Savannah.
Night with a SEAL (Hot SEALs, #1) by Cat Johnson Saved By A SEAL (Hot SEALs, #2) by Cat Johnson SEALed at Midnight (Hot SEALs, #3) by Cat Johnson The Last Jews in Berlin by Leonard Gross

Real life has not gotten in the way of my reading - but bad book choices have slowed it down - I just finished What You Left Behind last night - I finally decided to give up on a couple that I've been reading for a couple of months and just couldn't get into though so maybe more perfect for me books are on the way now

I was looking around and found this excellent blog post from the New York Public Library on Page-Turners for all Tastes. I've read a couple on here (Monster which is scary, The Martian which I loved, and And Then There Were None with its only fault being it is too short).

Hopefully this helps you find something good to read on your trip!

Julie | 130 comments If you like science fiction I highly recommend the Red Rising trilogy. I know I have recommended it before, but it is seriously AMAZING. I second the recommendation for The Martian as well. Also, a surprising read for me so far this year was A Man Called Ove. Red Rising (Red Rising, #1) by Pierce Brown Golden Son (Red Rising, #2) by Pierce Brown Morning Star (Red Rising, #3) by Pierce Brown The Martian by Andy Weir A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman

I have also fallen behind this year, 6 books behind I think! Hopefully that'll change soon though. I've picked up a few that should be quick reads. :)
