Sometimes you just need a break from writing. Here, you can talk about what you've been up to or how you're feeling. Talk about whatever you want!
Currently I'm working to improve Writingtowne but also looking forward to a vacation I will be on soon (I will need other moderators to take over when I seem inactive)! Current mood: Relaxed.

I suppose that I am on vacation now to I. I have been away from home for a few weeks, and have not done a whole lot. . . unless you count getting lost in the way to the grocery store and ending up at Wal-Mart. Now THAT was entertaining. But, other than that, I have had three weeks mostly to myself. Just enough time to watch three seasons of Arrow.

You should put your grocery store Walmart story in a book sometime! I'd read that!

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

If only. When I last had time I found myself watching the Flash! Not really a good use of time, but I'm really happy to have you as a MOD!
You're gonna do great things .. :)
BTW the flash was really good .

Well thank you.
I like the Flash as well. Too bad that there is only one season on Netflix.
Since I have watched all of Arrow and Flash, I am now watching Person of Interest.
And I will find a way to put my Wal-Mart mis-adventure in one of my books.

Eli | 55 comments Right now I'm present while the Olympics are playing. Not really watching them, but I'm there. I'm not really a big sports fan, but it's one of those global culture things, so yeah.

I'm also hoping a major patch comes out soon for a certain indie game comes out soon. See, most people can't even play it because of this problem, which is bad. The big problem for me is that it's a game that seem rife with opportunities for inspiration for sci-fi stories, so I'm kind of hoping it happens soon. So yeah, those are the big things right at this exact moment. There's other things in other moments though.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Haha, I feel the same about the Olympics. I have it on, but don't really watch it a lot.

Currently I'm having a bit of a technology spree before I go to the beach and get cut off for a bit. I just got home from a marching band show and am pretty tired. Energy level is almost at zero now.

Eli | 55 comments I'm sorry, but I must post an image here. It has nothing to do with writing, but I somehow think it's appropriate here (sorry it has to be in link form though)

That is hilarious!! I totally agree with that!

Valerie Ravenscroft (valerieravenscroft) Haha great picture, Eli!
As for me, I've spent the entire last weekend and Monday and Tuesday renovating our bedroom closet. I'm now allowing myself a mini-vacation (which is to say I spent two days playing games on my comp and feeling guilty about not writing).
So, current mood: I feel guilty... :(

I like mini-vacations like that. And I feel guilty all the time about not writing enough. More correctly, I feel guilty about not doing anything. I usually end up getting lost on YouTube and Goodreads, and totally forget about everything else.
Anyway, enough of that.
How did the renovation turn out?

message 12: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Ravenscroft (valerieravenscroft) Haha I totally know what you mean about YouTube and Goodreads. Just clicking a link.... and another......and another...... and another..... and, why is dark outside all of a sudden?! :P

The renovation turned out fine, thanks for asking! ^_^
Way better than it was before, that's for sure! However, I'm not sure the new doors we got for the closet can fit.... and it's missing a piece. So gotta wait a few more days to see if it's really all fine...

I'm glad that everything turned out right. My room is currently under construction. I have not had a room to myself since January. I just hope that it is finished when I go home.

That is too accurate! I am such an introvert it's not even funny XD

OMG! That long?!? Is it a contractor or do you do it yourself?
Cause if it's a contractor, there's some ass-kicking missing there! ;)

It's my Dad. He works on his time, and when he wants to do it. And my room is low on the totem pole of things to get done. He does a good job, but he only works on it once a month. But I just found out that he finished texturing it last week, so I all I have to do is clean up, paint, and move everything back in when I get back home.

message 17: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Ravenscroft (valerieravenscroft) Yay! It's going to be nice to have a room of your own again, right? :)
Where were you living all this time? Like, on campus or something?

I was sleeping on another bed in the house that I live in. But it was out in the open, so I didn't have any privacy.

message 19: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Ravenscroft (valerieravenscroft) Oh boy... Yeah, I'm sure you're gonna enjoy having your room back! Yay for that! ^_^

I sure am.
Anybody do anything interesting over the weekend?
Personally, I got to drive a team of draft horses. It was very cool-and wet. It rained on us most of the way, but rain is always welcome.

message 21: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Ravenscroft (valerieravenscroft) Oooh! That still sounds like fun ^_^
Personally, I worked over the weekend... And will work all week again. :P

That doesn't sound like much fun. But I suppose that is a part of life.

message 23: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Ravenscroft (valerieravenscroft) Well, when you like your "job", it's better: I'm a full-time writer :)

message 24: by Riana, That One (new)

Riana Rain | 110 comments Mod
Good point. I wish I had the ambition to write more.
What do you write?

message 25: by Valerie (new)

Valerie Ravenscroft (valerieravenscroft) Speculative fiction exclusively
I write paranormal for the most part, but I do some fantasy too sometimes
And it's either YA or NA :)
Thanks for your interest in what I do ^_^
