Was wondering if there was an Austin local meetup group. I may be relocating to that area and would love to join a group of it exists.

Hey guys! so I am in Austin now (Cedar Park actually). Are there any days of the week or areas of town that's preferable? I am pretty flexible. We would probably want to meet at the end of the month to talk about the Book of the Month (or even the first week of the month to talk about the previous month's book).
I would vote on meeting at the end of the month. My schedule is also pretty flexible. We must also decide which of the gazillion coffee shops we should meet at?
I was thinking a bookstore could be cool if they have a cafe and space for us. If we do downtown or even south, the weekends would probably be better for me. We could make a standing last Saturday or Sunday of the month appointment.
Book People isn't that far for me either. weekends would also be preferable. But I'm open to other coffee shops.
We can always try Book People, and if it doesn't work, try a different place the next month. Does anyone have a preference for Saturdays or Sundays?
Both days work for me, but I would prefer to meet earlier in the day rather than at night. I'm free the 29th if we wanted to meet this month.
I stickied your thread and put the date of your next meetup in the title in case others might want to join.
Your welcome. It's always nice to see another local meet-up get started.
Maybe if I come to Pax South one of these years and the dates line up, I can crash the party :)

Strangely enough John Scalzi is doing a book signing at BookPeople at 3pm on the 26th. The cafe might be busier than usual.
Yikes, the place might be packed. Do we want to look for another place to meet? Epoch? Or does anyone else have a coffee shop they prefer?
It's less than 2 miles away, just on the other side of the highway. They have a small parking lot next to the church.
Here is a link to the page of the guy I mention that also has a podcast and reviews books. I haven't listed to any for awhile, but he was always high energy, and if he didn't like something, he did not hold back. https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
I would suggest meeting at Spider House (does not contain actual spiders). Let me know if that works for ya'll.
