BOOK REVIEW POOL #35 - CLOSED
Hi,I'd like to review Stillness by Eldon Farrell.
My email address is joanne-rolston@clear.net.nz
Format, PDF or MOBI.
Thanks,
Jo Rolston

Thanks, Joanne. I have informed the author of your request.

Maybe I'm too late for Legacy, but would be glad to buy and review.Let me know. Thanks, Jerri
P.S. What does it mean when your book is crossed through? The Color of Cold and Ice
I reviewed "French Restoration," by Sara Claridge, and posted review on 8/14/16 on Amazon and Goodreads--https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...I'm submitting my book--"Taken by the Satyr"--for review on the "please review my book" thread.

Dear Moderators I notice a new book has been entered in the pool (Stillness by Eldon Farrell) with two individual readers (Joanne and Francis) reviewing it when the author has only submitted one review to have their book listed.
I'm confused - Is this a new way of getting additional reviews for our books?
James
Hi Jamesno it's not a new way :-) It's a result of something happening off list. As you know, we try to be as transparent as possible on this group but occasionally we have to protect the innocent!

Hi J
Your book is crossed out because you need to submit another review from a book (which is marked as available for review) to get your own book back on the available list.
Hope this helps

Thanks for your reply Sara
But I don't understand what you mean by protect the innocent?
The rules state that before you are entitled to get your book reviewed you will need to submit a review yourself.
Surely this rule should apply to everyone - without exception?

Hi J
It's best to check with a moderator
Good luck with that! :-)

Hi J,
I'd be happy to pass along your request to the author. Please provide an email for him to contact you and the preferred format.

Hello, James,
While I'm not aware of what occurred off this thread (it's not my pool), I'm fairly certain (99.9999%) the "protect the innocent" bit was just Sara joking around.

Thanks for helping out, Sacha :-)James, no, it's not a new way. It was human error. I forgot to cross out the book that was picked by Joanne, as I was at work. And when Francis stated that he had already downloaded the book and started reading it, due to my mistake, I had to let this one pass. Hope this explanation answers your question.

Thanks Sacha - I love a good joke :-)
The thread is easy to follow:
Pool 35, message 2 – Joanne chooses a book
Pool 35, message 4 – Francis chooses the same book
Rather than add both reviewers to the book, a moderator should have pointed out to Francis that the book is no longer available as it has already been chosen.
When I am careful to follow the rules of this pool, watching others being allowed to by-pass them is no joke!

Hey James.
It looks like Uma made some mistake regarding the listings. I've done the same. It happens as we the mods have many things to attend to.
That said, if you'd like to continue this conversation please do so by PMing me. This thread isn't' really the place for this.
Feel free to PM any other mods as well.
Thanks,

As Sacha had pointed out, we are all managing this group voluntarily and work/life can get in the way at times. Thank you so much for being understanding. I will remove your name from the list for now. I know you mentioned that you don't need the credit but if the book is available again, and you decide to pick it up (even though you've read it), you may do so and then post your review.
