I think the book is called timeless. They go into the normal world by boat to get brides. Their leader(?) takes a woman that has a child, i think. They fall in love evn though she wants to go back to the normal world. He takes her back but something bad happens. I think their world is called Asgard. I read it in 2008 in school.
