I check out Freebooksy every day. If it sounds interesting at all I download. After that, I read the first few pages. If it still holds my attention, I read it all. If it remains worth my attention, I write a review for my site plus several others. The good thing about Freebooksy and other free/low cost book sites is that I have actually found authors I have added to my "must read" book list. I go back and read previous books and write reviews, and grab their next book coming up.
Of course, the other side of that equation is that I have found some real Stinkers as well. It is hit and miss, but if you can find people who love your books it can all be a joyful noise!

The problem that I and many other people who review have is that I have to prioritize the books I've committed to review. These are author requests, publisher requests and ARCs from Net Galley or Edelweiss. So books from Freebooksy or any of the other free and bargain books services that I download tend to fall by the wayside. The last time I read one was so long ago, I couldn't even tell you when it was.
That doesn't surprise me when there's millions of people vying for exactly the same slots. It's a harsh reality; or perhaps realistic, that not everyone can be rich and famous or sometimes even make a living at what they love.
i wish everyone trying the best; but don't punish or beat yourself up if you don't get what you seek; this world is not heaven!
Thanks Shomeret for the insite.
