Abner | 90 comments Finally we learn what happened between Kennit and paragon (not all of it). I though this might happen, paragon wasn't gonna try and destroy Kennit. We knew there was history there, but this Igrot guy holy hell he made Kennit mutilate paragon and he was only a boy, no wonder he was so damaged/suicidal after all that abuse and it got worse than that.
Kennit was abused sexually by Igrot, to be obligated to mutilate the thing (or person) that you love more, no wonder he was depressed all his life.

I noticed that there's a lot of sexual abuse going around here in these books, Althea (almost), Serilla, Kennit etc. Kennit really and he wants to convince Althea by seducing her, let's see to what extent this goes, I thing he want to plant a baby in her as an alternative to the Wintrow/Etta failure. All in all pretty strong revelations and the book turned a little darker.

Also, I was worried about Malta during the whole time she was in custody aboard these different ships; it's fortunate that this pirate Captain Red seems to have some conscience and finds crossing certain lines unthinkable.
