Eli | 55 comments Okay, let's get the ball rolling then.

Contest number: 1

Contest: Super short stories.
The goal here is to write a complete story using 100-300 words. It can be any genre, as long as they adhere to the rules of Writingtowne, Goodreads, and contests in general (in other words, keep it clean).

Contest run: 8/24-9/10

Extra info: Stories should have at least a beginning and an end. The middle will most likely be blended into those two due to length. A small amount of wiggle room in the upper limit is allowable, but try and stick to the limit. You don't need to include the word count in your entry, but it can't hurt either.

I should probably have done this awhile ago, but I guess I should list a prize, right? This one's tricky, so a solid nine word dollars is a good amount, right? Let me know if this is too much or if me making the amount is not cool.

I'll give it a try too! ^_^

Laura Guilbault I'm guessing you're only allowed one entry, right?

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

Yes, although I suppose if you'd like to submit more than one that'd be alright ...

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

However, only choose one to submit for the contest . You can showcase the others , I suppose. I'll ask Pie.

@Laura

Contest Number:
2
Open Contest:
Any story that relates to or fits in the phrase or genre "Mermaids, Pirates, & Oceanic Settings".
Contest Running From:
September 2nd- October 20th
Extra Info:
Open contests are, as always, opens to everybody! The length of the stories should be at least one thousand words. There isn't really a maximum amount of words, but writing a full blown novel is a little bit over-doing it. Use your own judgement on its length!
Note: if your story is pretty long, please leave a link if possible or consider shortening it just a bit. Thanks :)
