Hey Guys,

So if you want to follow my format that works for me. Change it up and use it as best works for you. I'm thinking this will take me about 5 years!

Melissa Ward | 96 comments So are you going to write a new post after every book you read? After every month? Or just continue to edit one?

message 9: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
I'm planning to edit a post each month. So June will be a new post ... And then at the end of eAch month I will update my totals post - though there's no reason you can't do that throughout the month.

But you can log it however you want really... This is just how PCD I'm goin to be about it. Lol

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments Are you aiming for 14 books this month? Since you've done 11, 12, and 13 so far? :) I'm still working on my first August book lol.

message 17: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Haha - good eye Megan ... I didn't even realize I had done that! And no .... Going for longer ones .... Though I seem to be in a short book mood which could mean 14 by months end.

message 18: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments I didn't think you had noticed. I thought it was funny and wondered if you would hit 14 this month. I like short books after I've read a long series or long books. It's nice to break it up every now and then.

message 19: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
That's a good point ... I do like to take mid series breaks as well!

message 20: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments I happened to be thinking about the million page challenge earlier and I debated on if I should add rereads to the list. For example, I'm reading Harry Potter now and if I decide to read it again next June should I add the pages to my count again? I'm sure I could find enough books to make it without including rereads, but I just wanted to know your thoughts on the subject. I know I can do it however I want, but I wondered if you had thought about this as well. Sorry if I sound like a dork lol. I take my reading pretty seriously though. :)

message 21: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
I did actually! A friend of mine who just became a new mom and I were talking about it. If the book is over 100 pages than you can read it and count it as many times as you want. I you read a 67 page book, it only count the once. What do you think?

message 22: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments I agree! There are only so many books and I know there are going to be ones we want to read again, or need to in my case because I can't remember everything that happens lol. A page is a page, doesn't matter if it's the same words you've already read before. I'm going to try to not repeat a book in the same year, but I do like to read some favorites over and over.

message 23: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Boo yeah! Read 15 - broke my pattern!

message 24: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments Yay for broken patterns! I haven't done as well this month as others, maybe September will be better. :)

message 25: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
I'm sure it will! I can't believe I did that well given how much I've been working. Lol

I'm sure it will! I can't believe I did that well given how much I've been working. Lol

message 27: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments I'm doing a Fall Three Month Challenge thing in another group and I need a book with some type of celebration in it, but I can't think of one. I thought that I would pick your brain to see if you could think of anything.

Also, what is a book that you love? For the bingo challenge. :)

message 28: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Have you read the Pittacus Lore books? I really love those. Orrrrrr you can check out my absolute favourites shelf.

What's a celebration? A wedding? Christmas? Nora Roberts has a bridal quartet series that's okay .... Or The Christmas Wedding by James Patterson has both and is better than her. Lol.

That's all I can come up with. Ill poke through my lists and see if I can come up with more celebration ones for ya.

message 29: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments I'm not exactly sure on the qualifications of a celebration lol. It's not very specific.

I have read The Lorien Legacies earlier this summer, the first four at least.

message 30: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Gatsby is one of my all time favourites and that book is pretty much nothing but celebrations! Lol

message 31: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments You're awesome! lol. I will look it up and it will fill two of my slots! I've watched the old movie, but haven't read it yet. I'm sure my library has a copy. Thanks!

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Good! I'm glad I could help!

message 33: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments It was really starting to bug me lol. If you need anything at any time let me know!

message 34: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
I'm probably going to need advice for the Other world one. Do you mean something like Narnia?

message 35: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments To me I figured that one could be like Narnia, The Hunger Games, Divergent, etc. Something that is different than the world that we are in.

message 36: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Cool! I think I'll be able to figure it out.

message 37: by Megan (last edited Sep 01, 2014 11:17AM) (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments That's what I took it to mean. So pretty much anything will work. I tried to pick challenges for the bingo card that were easier to find books for.

I also think The Program would work, but I used it for a different one. Which was an awesome book!

message 38: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Hmmmm - ill have to check it out. I have heard good things.

message 39: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments I think you will like it, I haven't gotten the second one yet though. It wasn't in paperback like the first one and my OCD wouldn't let me buy different versions of the same series lol. It would bug me forever.

message 40: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Haha - I totally get that. Will it be in paperback soon?

message 41: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments It looks like March 2015, so not too long. According to Barnes and Noble anyway.

message 42: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Lol - I hate when they delay books after giving you a set date

message 43: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments I wish they would just print them in both at the same time and give you the option of which you want but of course they want more money for the hardback. Jerks. lol.

message 44: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
It's all about the money. Lol. I try not to buy hardcovers. A fellow book lover explained it to me as a book should cost about as much as a coffee a day. So if you buy a paperback and it takes you 4 days to read it it's like $3 a day. If you buy a hardcover for $40 and read it in 4 days then it costs $10 a day. Which is insane.

message 45: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments That's a good way to think of it. I will have to remember that! the only hardback books I wanted were Harry Potter, except mine have been read so much some of them are falling apart. lol. Some even came that way though, which is another reason to not get hardback.

message 46: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
It is nice to have a commemorative hard cover though.

message 48: by Melissa (new)

Melissa Ward | 96 comments I know you will probably both cringe at this but I only buy paperback (if I don't get it in ebook format) and the second I've read it, it's given away.... no leftovers to pack every time we move! I've already promised Ken that when we finally settle in one place I will allow him to have a full-fledged library :)

message 49: by Megan (new)

Megan (megantron119) | 207 comments I actually think that's wonderful! If I didn't want to reread my books I would give them to the library because I know they don't have any of the newer books that I have bought not too long ago. Maybe one day when I'm tired of them I will get rid of them. I would love to have a library like Belle's in Beauty and the Beast lol.

message 50: by Francesca (new)

Francesca Rock | 131 comments Mod
Mel I totally shed them too. They collect dust and are a pain to keep around. I either put them in the laundry room for a neighbour to take or I give them to charity sales. Haha - I actually picked up a James Patterson from the laundry room yesterday though - totally thought of you.
