"Claire is an alternative girl looking for an alternative. Her post-college prospects have fizzled and she’s looking for a new job, a new town, a whole new life. A summer position at a remote hotel may be just what she needs.
Very soon, though, she begins to suspect the hotel may have decidedly sinister motives. At the same time she falls back into her old wild ways with the young people of the town, a radical group totally at odds with the sinister leaders of a local cult. Caught between two worlds, Claire has to plot her escape while spiraling deeper into a nightmare of ritual sacrifice and killer parties."

Reading Schedule:
1) September 1: prediscussion (any beforehand thoughts)

2 )September 11: Midway discussion (begining to page 128)

3) September 25: End discussion (end!)

(Let's try this schedule so everyone can keep at their own pace and we'll have a little more read by the time we have discussions! )

Chris Loves to Read | 54 comments At a glance it's pretty much the opposite of what I'd read.. hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised!

Brett (brett_mount) | 1 comments Hey - just to be clear, page 128 is the end of Part One I'm guessing? The Kindle edition doesn't have page numbers.

Hey guys, I definitely thought I was going to be able to pull it together this month but I failed again. I swear in Oct. I'll be back to fully functioning. I'm sorry I let ya'll down!

What did everyone this about the book? I got a little further than half way but it was kind of a slog for me. The characters were a bit too hokey for my taste and it made it hard for me to care.
Anyone else?

I'm at work reading it right now, about 80% through. It's a little hokey but I want to know everything so I'm persevering! It's a pretty quick read.

Brian Lassiter (belassiter) | 20 comments I enjoyed it. Horror has never been my primary reading genre, so maybe I'm just not as jaded yet. I didn't really care for any of the characters, but the mystery of where he was going kept me reading. Plus, I'm a sucker for stories involving satanic cults.

Chris Loves to Read | 54 comments I'm only a 1/3 of the way through. I'll finish, eventually... haha

I finished it at work earlier and it... was so dumb...
