My copy is waiting for me at the library, I just gotta get down there to get it. I'm excited to read this just so I can hear all the things you are dying to talk about with us, lol.
I like that the names of the girls aren't capitalized. It reinforces the dehumanization they go through daily for their entire lives. (Being weighed every morning and told what to eat accordingly? No thank you. )
Eeeeek, I'm very nervous about the fact that "...isabel will never be a chastity. There are much greater things in store for her." BUT WHAT THO.
Can we talk about how nice it would be to look in a catalog and have the clothes appear for you? A lot of this is just gross to me with the weight control, the medication, and the ratings. But I would warmly welcome that closet! Seriously, that rating system. Ick. I think that the reason this book is so creepy is because it may be an exaggerated dystopian future, but the ratings and pills and appropriate weight are all happening right now to women.

Ok I finally got this from the library yesterday. Already it has kept me up late (couldn't put it down). Getting up at 5AM for work is never fun but extra hard today. Thanks book! Now I have bags and dark circles under my eyes, wrinkles from squinting to read, bed head, and I'm sure it made me gain even more weight somehow. My ranking will drop and I will be purposeless and obsolete and unloved.
I am having such a love/hate relationship with this book! I'm having such a hard time putting it down because it's great, but I hate everything I'm reading! It does remind me a lot of The Handmaid's Tale, but the dystopian backstory seems so much more cruel as a modern publication.

The first time I read this one I seriously accomplished nothing until I reached the end. My ranking was definitely at the bottom lol!
