Could you guys let me know on average how many books you read in a week? That way I can try to keep the teams equal in strength. :)

Andrea wrote: "Melanie, do we read any book (that meets the page requirements), or is there a certain genre or anything?"
Any book that meets the requirements (over 100 pages and not Manga, Comics, graphic novels, cookbooks, poetry, books in verse). A pretty easy challenge reading-wise, it'll be the finding covers that might be difficult.

I'm in! With two jobs, I can only read one (1) book per week right now. We'll see if the competition will help me get faster, but we should probably just count on one a week from me.

Glad you are excited! Having the puzzle list makes it easier on me, because I don't need to try and even out the toughness of puzzles per team -- I can just have all the puzzles together and let the teams themselves choose which cover they want to guess. ;)

Sounds like great reasoning to me! :)

I'll commit to read 1 book a week, maybe I'll be able to read a little more, but I can't promise anything!

I'm sure I'll love it too :D

Nope. Any book works, so long as it meets the requirements (is over 100 pages and is not manga, a graphic novel, comic, cookbook, etc.). :)

That's fine, Sarita. :) I'll put you down as .5 book a week. It's just a guideline anyways, for the team building, as challenges can sometimes push people to read more than they expected. :D

Thanks Melanie
Sorry Melanie. Guess I was so excited to join that I completely forgot to list my number of books. lol
It all depends on my reading time. Last month I was able to read 58 over 100 pages, but I'm not sure how many small books I'll be reading this month. So maybe put me down for 3-5 books a week?

I'd like to play! I usually read about 5 books a week, but I only review the good ones, so probably 2? I might start reviewing more with this challenge... :)

Let me know if you want to sign-up and I'll add you to the list. :)

Melanie is keeping track of everyone that signs up to do this challenge. It's just letting both her and everyone else know they've been added to her list up to this point. Comment 2 is where her list is. :)

Welcome! :D
Welcome! :D

As Amber asked before me I would love to know more about the logistics of the game. Where we go, etc. thanks! I'm excited!
@Amber & Zoe
New threads will be made for each team. That's where the teams will request their puzzles, post their reviews, chat with each other, and solve their puzzles. Each team will have their own thread, to make things easier and less confusing. :) Hope that makes sense!

I remember you and your mom really had fun being on the same team in another team challenge recently. Hope it works out for you again this time around! :)

For this round, there will be a list of 50 puzzles that need to be solved. Teams will choose a number to begin and once they solve that puzzle, they can choose their next one. Once all the puzzles are gone, the game is over, and the team with the most puzzles solved is the winner!
Teams will try to solve puzzles by removing pieces. The way to remove a piece is by reading a book. Once a book is read and reviewed (post the review in your team's thread), you may then select one of the pieces to be removed. If you think you know what the book cover is, make a guess. You get one guess at the puzzle for each book read. Guesses may be saved until future pieces are removed; but once the puzzle is solved, the guesses will be reset. As an added bonus, any book read that has 500+ pages allows you to remove TWO pieces from the puzzle.
Example of puzzle
A team member reads and reviews a book then chooses to remove piece 55 & another team member reads/reviews and chooses 56:
The team continues to remove pieces until they can solve the puzzle, in this case the book cover is:
Deadline to signup is September 8th .
Teams will be created between September 8-11 and the challenge will begin on September 12th.
Challenge begins: September 12, 2016
Ends: When all 50 puzzles have been solved
Book Requirements:
❀Must be at least 100 pages
❀All formats are allowed for this challenge (print, ebook, audio, etc.)
❀Manga, Comics, graphic novels, cookbooks, poetry, books in verse, etc. are not allowed.
❀You may reread a book for the challenge, it's not preferred but it is allowed. You may not, however, reread a book that you used already for this challenge.
❀Book must be started after the challenge start date - any books started beforehand must either be restarted or they won't count.
--
❀Puzzles will only be updated three days a week -- Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
❀There will be a list of puzzles, numbered 1-50, that need to be solved. Teams will choose a number and once they solve that puzzle, they can choose their next one. Once all the puzzles are gone, the game is over.
❀As always, the book covers will all be Christian, but this time they can be fiction or nonfiction. There will be some easy covers, as well as some harder ones, so it's all random based on the number(s) you choose how quickly you'll get through them. :)
***If this sounds interesting to you and you can commit to participating, please sign up below with how many books you can/usually read in a week.
If you have any questions, please just ask and I'll do my best to answer :)
