Hi, guys, resurfacing from the depths of teacher stuff and student stuff, looking for advice.
Do any of you use the premium services of Grammarly? Is it worth the cost?

If not, do any of you know of any good, solid sites or programs that offer the same services. My semester is back to back writing (plus I'm covering a Language Arts class), and according to Grammarly's free service I have issues with word choice and passive voice, but I have no idea what those issues are.

In fact, it's saying that there is a word choice issue somewhere in this post.

I have never heard of it but I think I'll try it.

I don't really know of any but I think Coursera offers free Grammar courses. LEt me go check.

Other than that, when I was in school (and when I'm being precise) I swear by Hodges' Harbrace Handbook (with InfoTrac)

Hmmm, this thing is a little weird. I guess I could deal with it tracking every damn keystroke... I guess. But it's well known that I'm a little p-noid.

But I don't like that they want you to pay so much and that you can't really see what changes they would suggest. In reality, I don't believe that a program will be as effective as an actual class with specific assignments.
