Hmm...everyone is on holidays, I guess! I'll post my nominations and wait a few more days to see if anyone else wanted to nominate before posting the polls.

I will nominate:
Comedy: The Diary of a Nobody by George Grossmith

and

War and Travel: All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy

with both my nominations getting chosen for September, I thought I'd give someone else a chance this month! ;o)

so I'll just nominate in one category:

War & Travel: Deliverance by James Dickey

Deliverance is one of my fave movies, and when I got the paperback on eBay it was in a lot along with the movie screenplay, so my plan is to read the book, then the screenplay, then watch the movie!!

I was! Pat Conroy was a favorite author of mine, and i saw it was one of his favorite books so I wanted to read it. I picked the other only due to the availability of the audio book at my library!

Oooh! Sounds like a great plan for reading/watching!

Let's just say i will be joining whatever book wins for war and travel riots time!

there appears to've been a 3-way tie in the poll for War & Travel - anybody know how this will be decided?

I couldn't decide between Deliverance and All the Pretty Horses. I chose Deliverance but if it makes October's pick easier then I'd like to change my vote to All the Pretty Horses.

Ha- Christine- I was going to fix the problem by changing my vote to deliverance! I can go with your change though and make the group read All the pretty horses, and if enough people still wanted to read deliverance as well, id start a side thread for that one like we did with Ratking a few months ago.

Let me know if people were interested in both!

In that case change your vote to Deliverance instead. :)

Ok, I made the read "Deliverance!" If anyone was interested in "All the pretty horses", let me know because I'll probably read that too and I can make it an additional book for this month.
