Ha ha, I want an excuse to read Kimi Ni Todoke (I liked what I watched of the anime). I'll also suggest Orange (if it hasn't been read lately).
On Wiki it says Shoujo and Seinen, so did it switch publication or does the tone / demographic shift? Wiki lists two different publishers, and then a sequel manga, so I guess the former.
Your Lie in April is really great and has a great anime on netflix streaming (in the USA atleast). It's basically about a boy who feels lost after his mother passed away and he gave up playing piano, abd then he meets a girl full of life and energy (sounds corny but hey it does have some twists and a lot of emotion) ill try and check out those suggestions, I've checked out Kimi Ni but never got into it yet
@ Terrence: I looked at a couple other places and they either list it as Shoujo or both Shoujo/Seinen. Since it gets listed as Shoujo, I'm going to count it. :)
@ Michael: I'm afraid Your Lie in April is a shounen, and I can't accept it as a suggestion for our group read.

Any more suggestions for this theme? :)
I'm sorry if I didn't pick a very good theme this time around. ^^;;; Most of the manga I would've suggested I realized we already read this year...

I would love to add Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-Kun... but it's not technically Shoujo (even though it has Shoujo character designs and tone effects, along with being about drawing / writing / publishing Shoujo manga with friends).
People say this has a strong focus on the bond between sisters (type "shoujo friendship focused" into Google, and you'll find other suggestions at one of the first few links):
A mystery shoujo sounds interesting. Don't know if that'd fit though since it's family members apparently. Edit: I checked the reviews quickly and saw you read it Selena, so you would probably know best if it fits the theme or no.
I'm afraid we read that one earlier this year. :-/ Is there another series you'd suggest for this theme?
My Love Story. I searched the bookshelf, but I might have missed it. I woud be surprised if you haven't read it.
A big part of the story is the friendship between Sunakawa and the male main character (Takeo? The big guy). I watched the anime a bit, and it was fun.

Added. :) I'm kind of surprised we haven't read it, too. I guess it just hasn't fit in a theme yet.

Suggest shoujo manga that feature the magic of friendship! (Sorry, couldn't resist :p) This includes but is not limited to stories about making friends, friendships that have gotten rocky, and friendships that may evolve into something more!
Please keep your number of suggestions to 5 or less and only to things we haven't read in the last year. Thank you!
