People everyday encounter fear. It lives within every single human being. In fact thats what makes us human. We all have something that scares. For some people, its spiders that crawl up and down houses, for others its the 400-ft tall rollercoasters. No matter what it may be, there is always something that scares us.
However for Marcus Luttrell in his novel "The Lone Survivor" he even " thought he might be finished now. He was full of despair, wondering if he might black out, begging his God to help him. 'Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil: For Thou art with me; Thy road and Thy staff they comfort me...' "(p.179). He was to the point of fear that he began reciting the same psalm that people use when on their death bed. Now it is promising that he relies on God; however, many times people are reciting it in doubt of their survival.
Usually when people are afraid, especially the United States, it's usually something very small and non-life-threatening. We usually are not in fear of surviving in the desert of Afghanistan, where the forces of evil are immense.
