I'm currently reading Spider-Man Identity Crisis, a follow up to Spider Hunt. It's a late 90s run of the Spider-Man comics, so it has a bad stigma attached to it, but I really like it so far. It's definitely not as bad as the lowly reviews make it out to be.
I am reading Jessica Jones: Alias Vol 1 and will be jumping into some Valiant trades this week, probably Harbinger and Faith.

Do you usually enjoy Deadpool?

Woooo Faith! I loved her miniseries and am enjoying the current ongoing. Let us know what you think when you get to it! Harbinger is on my to-read list as well, so it will be interesting to hear your take on it,

That's always a pleasant surprise! So much better than the opposite way around, when the reviews are glowing and then the comic is totally disappointing.

I liked that series a lot too! Have you seen the TV show they made of it? If you haven't it's worth hunting down.

I just finished Batman, Vol. 1: I Am Gotham (in single issues, obviously). It was the worst book that I've read by Tom King, but then King's worst is still enjoyable.
I really disliked David Finch's art, which I think skewed my perception of the whole arc. My favorite issue was, not surprisingly, #6, the epilogue, which brought on Ivan Reis and Joe Prado for art instead.
Overall, I gave it 3 out of 5 stars. Good, but not great.

That New X-Men run is one of my favorites. And Whedon's follow-up with Astonishing X-Men (follow-up in my mind at least) is a perfect capper.

Finished Jughead #9 and Archie #11 this weekend--both being fantastic, why aren't you reading this book?
I also read the latest Poe Dameron (#6), which was so-so. This book is fun, but I don't know if I see the point. I want new material, not lead up material (which is all we've seen so far). I'm hoping this book does a flash forward to after The Force Awakens sometime soon.

That's how I felt about this series as well. I grabbed #1 because I love both BB-8 and Phil Noto. It didn't grab me enough to justify adding it to my pull though (I have a really limited comics budget, so have to be picky), so I'm looking forward to reading the trade at my library when it comes out this December.

I loved that Astonishing X-Men series. I actually had a chance to watch the animated series first. It was on Netflix for a while, but it might have been pulled.

I read Harbinger Vol. 2 first because it gave an introduction to Faith and some other characters. The way the individual stories are tied together with the main story is done really well. I haven't read Vol. 1 yet actually, but I will probably seek it out at some point because of how much I enjoyed the second one.
Faith was really good too. I actually felt like I needed more background for this one than Harbinger because it references some stuff from one of the crossovers. The character is a lot of fun though. It's nice to see a character that defies expectations in a number of ways.
I did read another Valiant book last week, A&A: The Adventures of Archer & Armstrong, Vol 1: In the Bag. This book was so much fun. I recommend it if you want to read something that is pure entertainment. I could have used a little more background on these characters too, but I've just been picking books up at random.
Next up I'll be reading Saga, Volume 6.
Just wrapped Chew, Vol. 10: Blood Puddin' last night. Planning on reading Chew, Vol. 11: The Last Suppers this week. Once volume 12 releases, I plan to re-read the entire Chew series.
If you haven't read this series, it is fantastic and hilarious.

My haul this week, in no real order:Mockingbird 7
Spider-Man 2099 15
DC Bombshells 17
Batgirl & The Birds of Prey 2
Detective 940
Suicide Squad 2
Also got the first four volume of Alias, Vol. 1 from my library and intend to try and knock those out over the weekend.
Just finished reading the third (and final) volume of the Luther Strode series. I really enjoyed it. It's a very violent series with tons of gore, so if that isn't your thing I would avoid it like the plague. I loved the third volume. It was definitely my favorite of the series. A major theme of the story is power and what people choose to do with it once they have it. It was a satisfying end to the series in my opinion. Fun and snarky characters, great art, interesting story. :)

That sounds really cool! I also really love when an ongoing series has a good, satisfying ending. That doesn't always happen (*cough Azzarello's Wonder Woman cough*)...

I got pretty backed up on my comics reading about a month ago and am still working on catching up. As of last week, I'm all up to date with my singles, but I'm still behind on several trades:
1) Descender, Vol 2: Machine Moon
2) Pretty Deadly, Vol. 2: The Bear
3) Invisible Republic, Vol. 2
4) Velvet, Vol. 3: The Man Who Stole the World
I'm most excited for Descender, because everything about volume 1 was so perfect. I bought several copies to give as gifts the last time it was on sale at Barnes & Noble!

Doctor Fate 16
Harley Quinn 4
Dresden Files: Wilds Card 6
Thor 11
Nightwing 5
xena 6
Green Arrow 7
Power Man & Iron Fist 8
I recently read Excalibur: The Legend of King Arthur and really enjoyed it.I don't pick up comics too often, I was hoping that joining this club would motivate me to do that more often, and thus far it has.
Yesterday I picked up Saga, Volume 1 from my local comic shop. I always see people losing their shit over it and it seemed interesting so I thought I would give it a shot.

Yes! The world needs more comic readers, and Saga is a GREAT series to get you going. In college, our comic book club use to joke that Saga is the gateway drug of comic books, because it was the series that got so many people got into first. Let us know what you think!

My comic reading plans for this week include:Volume 3 of the New 52 Batwoman
Batman: The Long Halloween (perfect time of the year for it with Halloween fast approaching.)
Volume 1 of Saga (Since Hybrid Creature is a peach and is letting me read her copy/had good things to say about it!) ;)
Glad to hear your opinion of it too, Kate! I'd heard really good things about it before and am excited to check it out!
