Jane Blythe Okay, well since Queen Amanda and I love baking, and Mistress Ann is always handing out cookies, I thought I would start a thread in case anyone else wants to share their amazing baking ideas, especially if they involve chocolate!!

Anyways I made Toblerone mousse on Tuesday, it is absolutely amazingly delicious and I am totally one hundred percent dead serious that you all have to try it one time!! Link to my Facebook page for pictures . . .

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments Mmm...toblerone mousse sounds awesome <3

I made blackberry clafoutis the other night (with freshly forage blackberries; I have the prickles to prove it!).

I followed this recipe (but didn't have any vanilla handy).
It tasted like an autumnal forest (yum!)

I absolutely LOVE blackberries!! I am anxiously waiting for them to come back into season here, in the meantime I've been eating tons of strawberries and raspberries! So much so that the kids at work know I usually have strawberries at snack time so whenever they also have strawberries they come running over to tell me!

A baking thread is an awesome idea Jane. I actually work as a baker and am the head chef in my household! I make some mean sticky buns at work, I wish we could all gather for coffee and I could make us all some.

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

Speaking of baking, time for me to head off to work! Have a great day friends! (hugs) :-)

message 6: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments Ooooh Shawn...!!!! Bake me some goodies!!! :O
(I am a diamond member of Slimming World now so surely I get to eat naughties again??)

And yes, Princess Jane; blackberries are awesome.

message 7: by [deleted user] (new)

Have you ever tried the impossible cake? It's creme brulee combined with brownie.

Sola (theviolentvixenreviews) | 48 comments Not chocolate, but these are the best pumpkin cookies ever!

message 9: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Siegrist (amandasiegrist) Oh man, my mouth is salivating here, looking and reading about all these goodies. I might have to do another blog post soon with a recipe so I can share:)

Such a great idea. I love trying new things. Now which one do I try first....

Shawn, are the sticky buns a homemade recipe? Cuz Mmm....I want :)

message 10: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments Mmm...pumpkin cookes <3
I made pumpkin pie for the first time last year (I'm British!), and nom nom nom!! :)

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

The sticky buns I make at work is a big recipe, and yes it is from scratch. When I make them at home I have to make the recipe much smaller. It is made with a nice soft sweet dough, rolled out and spread with a cinnamon sugar coating which is the sticky part of the yumminess, once baked, they are piped with lots of cream cheese icing! Fantastic with a hot cup of coffee!

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

I will post a very simple yet delicious cookie recipe after! Ginger sparkle cookies! Mmm Mmm! Excellent with a hot cup of tea! :-)

Jane Blythe Okay, I should probably admit that I am a SUPER picky eater. Seriously. VERY picky! I will almost definitely love anything with chocolate in it though!!

message 15: by [deleted user] (new)

I will be sure to share some chocolate recipes too Jane! :-)

message 16: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments Sparkly cookies, sticky buns, chocolate...Shawn be careful; I could fall in love!!?? ;-p :O

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

That would make a good story actually, a romance between a baker and a patron to his bakery. One taste of his sticky buns and that was it, she was in love!

message 18: by Jane (new)

Jane Blythe Shawn wrote: "I will be sure to share some chocolate recipes too Jane! :-)"

@TL: Awesome TL! I was thinking the same, a story unfolded in my mind all day while I was at work yesterday. Now just to get it on paper!

message 30: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Siegrist (amandasiegrist) We expect lots of goodies when you're done watching, TL;)

message 31: by Jane (new)

Jane Blythe I baked my second favourite cookies the other day but I never got around to posting the picture of them anywhere. At the moment I'm kinda into ice-cream though so I haven't been baking as much!

message 32: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments Yeah, but that's because you're into spring, and we up here are plunging into autumn, princess :-)

OK, so having been inspired by Bake Off...
I am putting out a 3 tiered cake; each layer flavoured with a different flower.

I still eat ice-cream in winter! Its fun to eat no matter what the season!!

So what flavours for the cake? Cos I only like chocolate and vanilla!

message 34: by T.L. (new)

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments It's a virtual cake; make it whichever flavour you like. ;-P
Vanilla is from a flower, right? :O

The ones last night used jasmine tea or elderflower cordial. All sounded yummy.

I'm not sure I've ever actually made real life cookies, but this weekend I'm going to try oatmeal raisin with my step daughter (which sounds quite tricksy online).
*Please note the step daughter will be assisting in the making, not being baked into cookies (I'm not that kind of witch!) ;-p

message 35: by Jane (new)

Jane Blythe Did some more baking today, made these awesomely delicious Milo biscuits!

T.L. Clark (tlcauthor) | 527 comments OK, we're having a Halloween Bake Off at work.

Do I go gruesome / creepy / cute with my cake??

I've seen a really cool white eyeball cake drizzled with red jello and then a green iris put in.

A really pretty spider's web tart (just whit icing piped then struck through).

A white covered red velvet cake with red icing (blood) dripping from the top and a knife poking out.

Or a simple 'sheet' type white ghost (think more Casper).

Ideas/recipes gladly accepted.
But they have to be suitable for someone who's cakes don't often rise very well, and need to be super easy to make.

:)

message 41: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Siegrist (amandasiegrist) Oh man, those all sound awesome! I love the idea of the spider web cake and you could even find a cool looking plastic spider to add on top.

The red velvet cake sounds cool too, but I think I'm a fan of the spider cake the most.

Are you on pinterest, TL? I find a lot of my cake ideas on there. Love pinterest!

Ooh!! They all sound fabulous!! I kinda like cute things, but seriously I loved all those ideas!!

I have a super easy chocolate cake recipe if you want me to send it to you. Its the one I usually use when I make cakes for family birthdays and things and I've never had any problems with it! Just let me know!

message 43: by Jane (new)

Jane Blythe Oh, and I should say I can't wait to see pictures of whatever you end up making!!

message 44: by Amanda (new)

Amanda Siegrist (amandasiegrist) Okay, so to help Elle with a FB question I did a quick post and it happened to be a recipe for Apple pie, so here I am. I wanted to share that with all you lovelies. I love it and think it's super delicious. So does my husband, so that must mean it's really good, right? Right! *smirks*

Enjoy!

Groovy Lee Cinna-Bons are very expensive to buy. So, I've been trying to perfect my cinnamon bun recipe for years now. My problem is, they come out too hard, not super soft like when you buy at the bakeries. Anyone got a tip to share?

Also, I'm looking for the creamiest, chocoliest, chocolate cream pie, and chocolate fudge pie recipes.
