When Karin Ephesus founded the faction of Pax, she had one clear purpose: to avenge the wrongdoings of the other factions on Cinerie Bordana. She felt that it was her calling to protect the innocent (or not so innocent, but still) civilians from the horrors that the factions brought - piracy, crime, violence, and oh... so much bloodshed. And so, she believed, it was her job to protect them. To strike back at the other factions, for revenge.

In the faction of Pax, the leader is elected. Elections happen when one of the following happens:
a) the old leader dies,
b) the old leader abdicates the position, or
c) the current leader's abilities are challenged.

The current leader of Pax is Ichabod Alexander, commonly known simply as Alexander. He is a very strategic leader; his strikes against the other factions are generally quick and effective. Pax is open to members of both genders; they do not discriminate based on sex. In fact, Pax has had more female leaders than male, although its members are about split equally. Unlike most of the other factions, members of Pax generally lead normal lives outside of the faction with normal jobs.

When someone becomes a member of the faction, they have to swear on a blood oath - the knife of Hadrian Fennel, the second leader, is used to cut the right palm, and the new member places their right hand on the diary of Karin Ephesus, which outlined her ideas for a great future, and swear their loyalty to Pax.

The people who leave Pax... well, they don't have a promising future ahead of them.
