Elsis walked up on to the beach. the ship behind her floating away. she knew what this island was and what it might do to her; but she wanted to prove she was strong.

It was hot. Too hot.

If animals could talk, they would be complaining. If the sand could sweat, it would be. If the sea could evaporate, it'd already be gone.

Scarlett strut down the beach, hat brim tipped low to cover her eyes. She'd learned from experience that sunburn on your face isn't too pretty.

She was walking, but she wasn't leading. She didn't have anywhere to go at the moment, so she decided that leaving the ship and taking a walk would cool her off. Obviously, this wasn't working well.

She cursed under her breath, setting herself down on the sand.

Scarlett pulled the Bowie knife from a holster on her hip, and she began to examine it, sighing and looking at her reflection.

Elsis looked to the side seeing another girl holding a knife. who was she? Elsis slowly approached.

Lia walked along the beach. Under neath her white dress was her axe; one thinks Lia had learned in her years roaming the big bad world was that she should never leave home without a weapon. She looked out at the beautiful scenery and laughed to herself "what a joke" she muttered. Lia had always hated beautiful things, they made her sick and disgusted. She sat down in the sand taking in her surroundings, trying to block the world out

The silky, wet sand of the ocean's shore caused Esme's feet to sink slightly at each step she took closer towards the water. When will the attack happen? She wondered, thinking about what Alexander had said earlier. Being in Pax wasn't easy, as they had many of the fractions occasionally ambushing or kidnapping them for their rebellion against the conflict they all had against each other. Looking into seemingly endless cerulean sky that met the dark blue ocean, she began to think of many things and stopped at the shore. Unaware of the other presence nearby.

Lia hadn't heard the person approaching, she only saw the girl when she sat up. She squinted against the bright sin, unable to see if she knew the girl or if she was a stranger. Her hand slowly moved to her axe, she wasn't exactly sure what she was going to do but she figured it was better to be safe than sorry.

Slowly sinking down onto the sand, she felt the cool water soak the bottom of her legs as they lapped against the shore. Reaching towards her front pocket, Esme grabbed and took out a small, smooth stone and threw it into the water. The stone skipped across it's surface until it eventually decreased of speed and sank into the ocean.

Suddenly, she felt someone a few feet away from her and looked over her shoulder. Looking at the figure, she saw that she was a young woman and tensed slightly when she saw that she was reaching towards something from her dress. A weapon, Esme realized as she saw the metal glint from the sunlight.

As soon as Lia realized that the girl looked harmless she let her dress fall back down, covering her axe. "You know, if you don't say anything it's easy for people to think you are someone you aren't" Lia said, she didn't mean to sound so formal but she was too tiered to care what she said. Usually Lia was bubbly, funny and nice but she had stayed up all night taking a tourist around the island. The job of taking tourist from point A to point B it actually paid pretty good, it paid better when they ran into trouble and she was able to take a few bucks off of her scarred customers

Sighing slightly in relieve, she smiled genuinely at her. "Well one wouldn't talk if they weren't aware of another's presence." Esme said, her eyes catching the sunlight and causing them to go to an abnormal vivid light sea-blue color. Gesturing towards the spot next to her, she asked her, "Care to join?"

Lia shrugged and smiled back "thanks that be great" she sat down beside the girl and fell back in the sand "I hate tourists, they are so needy and annoying. Sort of like babies, except for less cute and they cry more" she huffed, a wicked grin on her face "are you from around here?"

Laughing, she nodded. "I've been here for quite a while. You?" In a way, she agreed to her. Tourist tended to break things in Alex's store and accidentally interrupt the construction for a new home while Esme was working as the architect of the island. The most irritating ones were the teenage boys, they tended to cause trouble intentionally when in stores or other locations of Cenerie Bordana.

"I'm from an island that way" she said, waving her hand towards the north "somewhere in that direction, and I'm stuck here showing cheesy tourists around because they are too dumb to use pepper spray" she said taking another brief sigh "sorry I'm ranting, just tiered"

"It's alright, it's amusing. The things you rant about I mean." She grinned at her and caught sight of a snake slithering towards them.

Lia ignored the snake slithering towards them. "I'm Lia by the way" she said extending her hand towards the girl

The snake went past them bag went into the water, it's red, yellow, and black stripped scaled body disappearing into the water. "I am not entering that water anytime soon." She shook her hand, pointing at the water with her other as she laughed.

Lia grinned "I love snakes, they are so cool, and they scare most people" she folded her arms behind her head "that's the life"

"Life's scaring people halfway to death?" She raised a brow at her, her eyes amused.

Lia smirked again "pretty much, yeah, I mean, what's better than having a carefree life where you know no one will ever bother you because they are either too scared of you or you are so small they don't even see you" Lia shrugged "i take it you don't like snakes" she asked curiously

"I do, that little one right there just startled me." She smiled and leaned back on her elbows. "Had a lot of reptile pets before having my canine." Esme shrugged and looked at her. "You?"

"I don't like cats but dogs are okay" she said simply "my dad was allergic to dogs so I've never had one"
