30.8 - Sandy's Task: Concentration!
While the common word must be a noun, it does not need to be used as a noun in the title. Think words like love, fight, walk - all could be used as verbs in the title, but are also nouns.

The Walk
A Walk to Remember
OOPS! I didn't watch the page numbers.
Thanks!!!

yes, "walk" is a noun. However, both of these books appear to have fewer than 300 pages, so don't meet the task requirements.

ETA: my husband says I am wrong. Ghost Orchid is a name and therefore a noun by itself.

It doesn't matter. the word needs to be a noun. I'll take it even if it isn't necessarily being used as a noun in the title. Since book titles aren't generally complete sentences, I'm not going to make everyone nuts trying to work it out. If the word is a noun, it works.

then that would work. Be sure you post the correct link if/when you post this task - it will be disallowed if you just post the ebook link.

yes, that's a noun, and both books are long enough. You're good to go.

A card game, in which the object is to find matching pairs of cards. For this task, you will look for matching words in the title/subtitle of two different books.
Read two books, the title/subtitle of which contain the same noun - generally defined as a word meaning a person, place or thing. Pronouns (I, we, you, he, she, it, they) do not work.
The word must be exactly the same in both titles, no variations.
The fine print:
No books with the genre "children" may be used for this task, regardless of length.
Each book must be at least 300 pages.
NOTE: ebooks without print versions cannot be used for tasks requiring a specific number of pages. If you read an ebook or audiobook use the page count for the mass market paperback if one exists. If there is no mass market paperback edition, use the paperback edition and if no paperback is available use the hardcover edition.
REQUIRED: Specify the noun that the two book titles have in common and the number of pages in each book.
