The first books on my summer reading list are four that I have been reading for a while and want to finish!

Salinger by David Shields Salinger by Shields & Salerno (biography) I'm a bit obsessed with J.D. Salinger and his work.

The Yearling by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings The Yearling by Marjorie Kinan Rawlings This was a favorite from high school and my grandpa's favorite book. If you love books like Where the Red Fern Grows, read The Yearling.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4) by J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire I'm a bit ashamed that I have not read all the Harry Potter books. I'm working on them.

Charlotte's Web by E.B. White Charlotte's Web My son and I are reading this together right now.

Andrew Hutchinson (hutchinsona) So, you're going to think I am crazy and that this is crazy. I just now read Charlotte's Web for the first time. I loved it and think it really tells a great story of character and friendship. Charlotte shows a great friendship for Wilbur as does he for her. Even though it's for younger readers I still enjoyed it and enjoyed the ending chapters especially. Not to mention Ferns change as she gets older and Templeton is so stubborn and fairly funny to me. I am glad I finally read it. That friendship between Wilbur, Charlotte, and even Fern is something I wish everyone could have.

DaShannon | 71 comments Andrew I think some of the classics we are suppose to read as children are more meaningful if we read them later in life. Charlotte definitely fits into the category.
