Hey guys, well if we really are doing this leta get the ball rolling. Lets hear some suggeations for October picks.
Ill come up with some by tomorrow.

So remember the whole point is to specifically suggest a book or books that for one reason or another you dont expect to like it. Either something political about the author, the subject matter, or even itsjust a concept so bad you dont know how it was even published lol.

the idea is to try and learn to find those small nuggets of redeeming qualities in things u would normally avoid.. and get better perspective on the books you DO enjoy and what they do so well.

Side note. Ive been toying with the idea of doing a bog giveaway either annually or every few months (the less often Its done, the more money I can dedicate to the prize)... for each time a member males itthrough the month WITHOUT DNF'ing the book.. ull get a entry and then if u ALSO go on to do a video for it a second entry.

heh no word on prizes yet cause that idea literaly came to me while I wrote this post heh.

So October Suggestions?? ;) Idl wouldnt be opposed to aome hallowee /scary suggestions to fit the months mood but its not mandatory heh.

Molly Rene (arivanna) 50 Shades of Grey. I don't want to touch this book with a 10-foot-pole.

1) I don't like Twilight and this book started as Twilight fan fiction online.
2) It completely misrepresents the BDSM community, which I am a member of
3) I have heard the writing is terrible

Seems like a fair suggestion because I feel in my heart of hearts that I will hate it with a fiery passion.

that certainly fits the bill for proper theme for October, cause I cant think of anything more horrifying than reading 50 shades haha.

Haha right?? That's how I feel. But that is the purpose of the group is it not?

Britt (girlonkindlefire) | 14 comments Oh my gosh.... 50 shades... I swore I'd never ever read it ever. But now.... If this is the pick for October, I guess I'll be reading it. Do we have to suffer through the whole series? Or just the first book?

That's definitely one I wouldn't pick up to read for myself, from what I've seen it's one of those books where there's not a lot of middle ground. I've seen people who hated it, and others who binged the whole series. :P I'd definitely consider it a contender for this though.

I'd rather that then 50 shades

Lena_makridina | 33 comments I think The Sword of Shannara by Terry Brooks is a good one to pick. I DNF it but there is one character in it whose story I'd really like to know so I'll have to come back to it sometime.

Rachel Twilight~ after watching at least two of the movies. which I stopped watching after New Moon. I couldn't even think of picking up the books and reading.

The Selection seems like everything I hate in YA.

I have two suggestions. First is Halo by Alexandra Adornetto. The reviews are all terrible so it seems obvious. I also recommend Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire because I hear the love interest is completely abusive.

I have wanted to read beautiful Disaster just to see if it's anything like the song written by 311.

I haven't heard of Halo and Beautiful Disaster, lol but I'm down.
So far, we have in contention

50 Shades
Twilight,
The Selection
The Sword Of Shannara
Halo,
& Beautiful Disaster

*is already regretting suggesting this group lol*
I'll throw up a poll like on Friday with these and any other suggestions you guys want.

Molly Rene (arivanna) I actually read "The Selection" and loved it. Like in a trashy romance novel kind of way. Like watching reality TV.

Molly, I feel you. I binge watch "Teen Mom." I've actually kind of wanted to read The Selection. Just to kind of formulate my own opinion. But I dont have very high expectations for any of the suggestions. So it's not like I can be very disappointed
