Can't see the author. Can you repost the link please? (Try using the add book/author link above the comment box)
Hi Renee,Had a look. Don't know. Follow the author, then you can message him and ask. Please post answer on here.
Regards,
Chris
I've got this working now but it seems it's not actually for 'works in progress' which is what I've used it for. It would be nice to have a section on a profile page to tell followers and friends what authors are currently working on.Any chance?

For example, would you like to share chapters of the book, or just a one-liner update about what you're working on? It sounds like this could be great content for your Goodreads author blog.
Hi Jaclyn,Thanks for your reply.
No, personally I wouldn’t like to share chapters in a ‘works in progress’ section as they’re still frequently edited, but I would like to elaborate more on some of the chapter headings that I’m working on. So for example, if you look at my profile I’ve put some chapter headings up and one is called ‘In Control’ which is ambiguous to say the least. Yes, I can update my progress on the ‘writing’ heading but it would be nice to have a dedicated section for WIP (works in progress); after all, anyone following an author is surely interested in what they’re up to and searching through previous blog posts can be tedious and less accessible. An update feed for the section would be a good step too. So what I’d suggest is somewhere where authors can share - with their followers - what they’re currently up to, in whatever way they choose. Does this sound like a possibility to you?
On another note, as you’re a Goodreads expert, I applied to become a librarian some time ago and haven’t heard a thing?
Renée
Thanks for explaining Renée! At present, most authors use their blog posts or author description to keep readers updated. Authors can also post a general status update to share what they're working on. Keep in mind that you can add a new book record as soon as you have a publication date and ISBN so that Goodreads members can see what's coming next when visiting your author profile.
Regarding your librarian application, I can't see any record of you having applied using the email address associated with your author account. If there's another we can look into, please feel welcome to follow up anytime by emailing us at support (at) goodreads (dot) com. Keep in mind that these applications are approved on an as-needed basis, so it could take some time for yours to be processed.
Hi Jaclyn,It's a pity about the WIP ... I think it would be great for Goodreads, readers and authors alike. Most people are too busy to randomly pop onto the pages of authors they follow. Still, I shall use the 'Author's Writing' section, even though there is no feed for it.
Thanks for your input.
Thanks for info. re. librarian status too; there was definitely an application from me. I shall put in another one
All the best ... Renée
