I also did a re-read of some of my old childhood Dahl favorites last month. I can't seem to find the Witches in ebook format in the U.S., but I was able to get The Twits, Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, and Matilda. The Twits and the BFG were so amazing when I was a kid. They're definitely the type that are more appreciated by a younger age group, I think, but it was still fun to revisit them. Charlie was the best for me upon re-read. That's one with universal appeal, I think.

I'd never read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before either but it's one of my favourites.
Am now re-reading Matilda.
Roald Dahl books are really hit or miss for me. Some are spectacular and have the magical feel that made me fall in love with reading, but others just don't capture my interest as much. My favorite Roald Dahl book is definitely Charlie in the Chocolate Factory.

After reading or re-reading some of those books I've got to say that I really enjoyed The Twits, The Witchs and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the most.
The Twits mostly sentimentally because I read it with my older sister when I was about 8 but I think the other two are just written so fantastically.
