Located in San Fransisco (based off of the alternate reality)

James strolls down the halls, whistling loudly. People give him looks but none tell him to stop. The corners of his mouth tilt upwards a little bit. He had a lot of power here. As a captain and a person who saved this place a number of times no one dares mess with him. It was kinda boring without Spock who was out doing a "little favor" for another captain. Little traitor.

K'trarr was slightly nervous as she walked down the halls, with a tall posture, though despite this she was only 5'7". She was on the shorter end of female Caitians. Though this was rather tall next to humans. Back to why she was nervous. The USS Gryphon had been called from it's exploration mission in the Gamma quadrent only a couple days into the mission. Which meant she had only been a captain for a few days. Plus she was the youngest captain. She had the least amount of experience, standing against all these great captains that were more experience and older than her. She sighed nearing the room where the captain's meeting was supposed to take place. Commanders were also requested, but she didn't have anyone yet, because that had been her position.

He walked down the halls towards the meeting halls. It probably was already starting. His ship got busted after a stupid stunt that he doesn't like to talk about. With him being stuck here till it's fixed, hopefully before Spock gets back, there is absolutely no reason why he should be late. But, he is. He managed to find a way to forget and he'd probably get in trouble with Spock for it. Ugh, he could already hear the lecture. He opens the door, relieved that people were just taking their seats, but some heads glanced at him, giving him looks that he was still late.

K'trarr slipped in just as the door was about to shut behind Captain Kirk. The Captain Kirk. She hoped no one would notice her, as she seemed out of place to all except for those who knew about the events with the Cardassians. She took her seat.

He sits in his seat in the front, throwing his arm around his chair casually. He looks around at all the stiff backed people around him, and he looks for new faces. Since he's been bored, he made it his job to learn all the names of people and tried to learn new comers names. His eyes slide over the people in the back and near him. His eyes stop on a few and he looks at their small name plates on their shirts. Some were too small to see but he could make out a few. Kari, Joui, Lui, and K'trarr.

K'trarr opened the agenda folder that was on the the table in front of her. She started looking through it. Might as well try and figure out what was going on and soon. She glanced up at the other captains and looked at their name tags.

Kirk averted his eyes from the back row of new captains when the captain sitting next to him nudged him. He lazily opened his folder skipping over the texts. He flipped through a couple of pages, till he got bored.

K'trarr stopped on one page. Something didn't seem right about one of the pages. Something about missing crew members. She read through it again. Some was linked to the Cardassians. Mostly just the USS Gryphon's incident. But then there were some that just disappeared entirely.

Most of it was just normal occurrences, like one or two crashes. He flipped to the middle, he came across a page with disappearances. Uss Gryphon catches his eye, and then the name K'trarr. Kirk frowns, looking back for the face to match the name. He finds it, tapping his finger on the desk. She looked young. He studied her face before turning back. He sighed a little too loudly. He never liked meetings, all with stiff backed people who looked like they had sticks up their a**es. They lasted normally longer than he liked.

K'trarr was asked to make a formal statement about the events with the USS Gryphon. So she stood up, as asked, to speak. "The USS Gryphon was preparing to go into warp when we noticed our captain had disappeared. The helm officer found his com signal on a nearby asteriod. We sent an away team to find him, but they disappeared as well," She paused for a moment to gather her thoughts. "Then a Cardassian Galor class ship entered our field of view. We attempted to hail them multiple times but they did not respond. We did however get a hail from the captain who had been captured by the Cardassians. We accepted the hail, and then watched him get shot on screen. He is presumed dead." K'trarr had to stop. This was a lot for her to remember even if it had only been a couple days ago. "We fired on their weapons system, disabling it. What we did was an act of self defense. After their weapons system was disabled they warped. We did not follow because that may have been seen as an act of war" K'trarr then sat down quickly, finished.

Kirk taps his fingers against the table, his chest tight. This reminded him of the stories that he heard about his father and what happened. There were a couple mummers, but they were quickly quieted.

Her report was filed. Then the topic moved onto the disappearing crew members. apparently the Enterprise was one of the ships that had at least one missing crew member. At least that's what K'trarr read

He flipped over some pages, listening to the other captains talk about their crew members. He was a little ashamed to have lost a couple of his too. When it came to his turn he stood and sighed. "On a rescue mission to collect the U.F.P.F's crew, lead by Captain Keller, our communications and wrap broke down near the sight. Picking up their crew, I sent out 8 people of my crew to go down to a neighboring planet to contact Starfleet. After we got back, I heard no word from this group. I went to investigate with knowledge of where the crew or ship is now" He finished and sat down. He didn't send his best, but he did send some good people out there. He wanted them back as fast as possible.

K'trarr purred as she read over everything. It wasn't a pleased purred. It was a 'something is wrong' pur. she read over the stuff again. Then cleared her throat.

He looked at the other captains as the rest of them shared their stories of crew members lost. All of them sounded alike except for one. There were others like him that sent out ships, but none of them were attacked like K'trarr. "Permission to speak sir" He said standing up. When the permission was granted he started. "Sir, all of these stories are the same. But Captain K'trarr said she seen a ship that attacked first. Making no assumptions here of course, but my guess is that this ship had something to do with the disappearances"

"Permission to speak!" K'trarr said standing up. She had a different theory. She didn't think that the Cardassians had anything to do with most of the stories. Just her's

He looks at K'trarr, thinking the whole problem through in his head. All of this didn't make sense. Multiple cases of missing crew and one report of an attack. The fact that she responded so quickly means that she disagrees, which is a possibility, but he'd have to look into it more to find out. One of the captains grants her permission to speak, and they all turn to face her. Kirk remains standing, looking at her, and getting ready to retort if she said something stupid.

"It would be illogical to blame the Cardassians for the missing crew members, especially since now and in the past, the Cardassians have always confronted their target ship. " K'trarr said. "my theory is based on our understanding of multiple realities. I have done my research and Captain Kirk will agree with me, but multiple realities do exist. and if multiple realities exist it isn't wrong to assume other universes exist. it is possible that these missing crew members have been ending up in other universes or realities. it is only a theory though"

"It would be logical to blame them because the tension between us is very thin and they have attacked us before, I'm not blaming them though, I'm just saying we should investigate." He says sharply not bothering to wait for acceptance to speak. "and though I do know from multiple encounters that different realities exist, there has been no evidence that black holes or any break in our reality" He finished.

"Why should there be any evidence?" K'trarr threw the thought out there for a moment and let everyone think about it before continuing. "there are two theoretical possibilities. the first is that they were, for lack of better words, beamed to the other universe with no trace. the second is that a tear opened up, pulled them through, then closed without a trace" She said. "These are both scientifically logical. if Mr. Spock were here I'm sure he'd agree with me" K'trarr knew how to get at Captain Kirk. "And although I don't suggest this wasn't the Cardassians, its just scientifically less possible that it was the Cardassians. if it is chosen to investigate the Cardassians a more logically thinking captain should be chosen"

Commander Spock*

Kirk frowns even deeper. "May I ask what makes you so certain it was from a different dimension? Do you have any evidence because so far you just have open ended strings that don't add together. Where my Cardassian theory actually has proof and evidence of way they may attack our troops and ships. May I add, that you are a newer ranked captain that hasn't been here for long, so please. Think twice before insulting your superior" Kirk snaps. Turning to face the front, he adds "I also wish to request to take the mission of investigating the Cardassians"

"My theories come from knowledge of past patterns of Cardassian activities and your own experience with an alternate realty. It is logical. And I wasn't insulting you Captain. I wouldn't do. Though you shouldn't judge me by how long I've been a captain, sir," K'trarr said. She had gone through the academy for two years, faster than almost anyone else. Then they had immediately placed her on a ship, where she had gone from Ensign to Lieutenant Commander in no time. While she was young and new to being a captain, she was as smart as any Vulcan, and as logical as one. "If we are requesting to take the cardassian investigation, I would like to request to take it" She wanted to, because it would hopefully shed some light on why the USS Gryphon had been attacked.

"My past knowledge of this was based off of what my father before me seen, as an anomaly, with readings. So far, we have nothing of the sort. Even if there was a tear, we of the Starfleet would have heard about this. And not to be whiny," He said, tilting his head and running his tongue across his teeth. "But it kinda did sound like you were insulting me. And I should and can judge you on how long you have been a captain. You may have gone through the academy fast, but you haven't been a captain. You have no knowledge of what kind of fear sets into your heart when you realize that the lives of thousands on your ship are in your hands. Once again I request the case again, because I actually can and know how to do this" He said, sticking his tongue out at her before facing back to the front.

"I don't mean to be rude by correcting you sir, but I would like to note something that I'm sure you will all be notified of oh right about now." K'trarr nodded as there was a ping from everyone's data pads. "We were undocking from the Space Station Eureka when a Cardassian ship, flown by Romulans attacked us. Not only did I have the lives of my crew members in my hands, but I am also partially responsible for the lives of those on the USS Gothica," She gave a slight nod to Captain Oakley. There was a glitter in her eyes when she looked at him. "The only lives lost were those of two security members who had come with me to take over the Cardassian ship. Although this was unsuccessful we were able to capture one of the Romulans for interrogation" She was prepared to answer any more questions about the attack

"May I ask why you did-" he starts but it interrupted by a loud smash on a table. One of the lead captains shouts at both of them "Enough! The both of you are back and forth arguing like two year old's! Being that you both have knowledge of the missing reports, I want both of you on this case. I want you to report back to me with any information you found on this. You may go as far as you wish but I would like if you asked me if you wish to capture and or question someone. Innocent or not" James eyes widen. "Sir. I'm not questioning your authority, nor am I trying to insult, but I'm not sure us two are the most suited to work together" He starts. And putting two captains together? It's something that rarely happens because both are commanders. They don't like to be commanded. "And even if we were to work together. Who's ship? Who would lead? There would be chaos!" He says, trying his best to change the lead captain's mind.

"Sir, I already work with a Captain. Captain Oakley sir" K'trarr said. She was afraid of being separated from Oakley for any length of time. She glanced at Oakley, seeing that he wasn't too pleased either. He would rather keep Captain Kirk away from K'trarr, his love.

"Does Captain Oakley have any knowledge, or has seen anomalies like this before? I think not that he reported of. You and Captain Kirk both have knowledge of important pieces of this. Not only that but both of you have finished and gained your own ships in an amazing amount of time. That's my final decisions. You both will decide who's ship you will take and you can decide which crew members you will take" The lead captain says his voice hard. James shoots a glare at K'trarr and the lead captain. "This meeting is dismissed. I will speak to the rest of you who have questions privately" The lead captain finishes. Kirk stands collecting his things and barging out of the room angrily.

K'trarr gathered her things and she watched as Oakley went to ask the lead captain a question.

"Sir, captain, I was wondering if there was anyway I could join Captain K'trarr on this mission, even if it means temporarily being demoted" Oakley asked.

K'trarr waited outside for Oakley. She glared at Kirk seeing him. Her tail swished fiercely

"Is there a reason why you wish to be there with them?" He says folding his hands in front of him. "And if you want it, then I will demote you, but you have to ask the captains first. They are the ones choosing their crew members"

Kirk frowns even deeper, breathing in deeply. This had to be the worst outcome he could've asked for. He did get his wish on working on the case, but with a newbie?

"Yes sir, there is a reason why I wish to be there with them," Oakley said. More specifically K'trarr. "I will be sure to ask Captain K'trarr and Captain Kirk" He already knew K'trarr would say yes no matter what.

K'trarr was determined to logically show Captain Kirk that she was just as good as any other captain. Despite being a newbie.

"Then go off on your way" The captain says motioning him that the conversation is over.

Kirk returns to his quarters, putting his stuff on his desk. He had a couple days before they set off so time for a little fun before he had to work. He stripped and put on some jeans, a plain white tee and a leather black jacket. He walked out, strolling down the halls, heading toward the nearest bar.

Captain Oakley nodded then walked out to where K'trarr was waiting. He kissed her softly. "Shall we go out and get a drink, my love?" He asked. "I would love to have a drink with you" K'trarr said. She took his arm when he offered it and the two walked to the nearest bar.
