I am definitely going. I have not been to Capclave before, but it seems similar to Confluence, which was held on July 29 - 31, 2016. Both are small literary conventions and that is what I am looking for.
I'll be there. I've enjoyed Capclave very much the last few years (although I missed last year as well). Inexpensive but high quality con.
I went to Capclave last weekend. Ran into David there. Cool dude. Had a great time. Attended many panels and listened to many readings. I would definitely recommend going. I plan to return next year.
It was great meeting you, Gary! I also saw Leesa and RJ a few times, too. I had a lot of fun this year! And Ken Liu & Neil Clarke are the Guests of Honor next year, can't wait.
Hey, just a reminder for any folks in the DC region that Capclave 2017 is in a week! Hope to see some folks again this year--looks like a LOT of fun panels and events with Ken Liu, Neil Clarke, and the other guests. Can't wait!
Yup - this is an awesome small literary SFF con. Always one of the highlights of my year. Hope to see some of you there!
Hey for DC area folks, Capclave 2019 is starting THIS Friday. The Guests of Honor are none other than Martha Wells (Murderbot Diaries, Books of the Raksura, manyothers) and Robert J. Sawyer (a million books). Other authors attending will be folks like Jack Campbell (Lost Fleet series), Charles E. Gannon (Caine Riordan series), Fran Wilde (Bone Universe, others), and Suzanne Palmer (Finder, "The Secret Life of Bots").(And as a special preview for Capclave 2020, they'll have Peter S. Beagle as a Guest of Honor, and because of the 20th anniversary, several past Guests will also be returning such as Ken Liu and Catherynne M. Valente and more).
Authors mentioned in this topic
Sarah Beth Durst (other topics)Tim Powers (other topics)

Will anyone be at Capclave this year (October 7-9 at the Gaithersburg Hilton)? Sarah Beth Durst and Tim Powers are the Guests of Honor.
It's a very small convention compared to others you may have heard of--it's definitely no Comic-Con. It's more of a literary convention, and I've enjoyed it the couple times I've gone in the past. I'm going again this year in case there's any interest in Sword & Laserin'.
