What part of spec ops stories appeal to you the most?

'Very rarely', speaking for myself.

I enjoyed the action sequences in John Steakley's 'Armor'and Graham Masterston's 'Death Trance' was well-done...otherwise no, I can't recall any...

I think one would have to be a longtime or avid reader of just these specialized such books to identify the few which turn out well..

I find spec - ops mixed with dystopia is a highly popular trend these days.

Aye. Here's another one; by the renowned author Paul Theroux. heavy hitter in mainstream lit-fic.

It's called 'O-Zone' and came out well before current trends in computing; Theroux was far-sighted in this case.
