Sascha Struijs | 6 comments I am looking for a fantasy triology i Read about 10 years ago. The books might be from the 90ies, I believe written by a woman.

The main protaganist is a warrior woman who rides her giant Lizards. She also talks with him/her through sharing thoughts. The Lizard is actually very intelligent and witty. Their friendship is deep. I believe she is good with both a sword and bow. The first chapter of the book descibes how they get caught in an avalance/mud slide while on a journey.

There are several other bits and pieces I can remember:
There are other giant creatures that can communicate by sharing thoughts and form an order of some kind. I believe there is a giant wurm that can eat through stones, a giant praying mantis who is the leader of the bunch and someone who lives in the sea/water.

A city in the mountains is besieged by flying creatures that have swordlike fangs. I think resembling gargoyles. The protagonist must go through the city stealthlike as a rougue in order to evade the creatures and save the people that are trapped somewhere in a cave with famine and disease pestering them.

Also I believe there was an underground city of some sorts that can be entered thorugh a maze of tunnels. The entry of this tunnels is through a big watervall which sweeps some of the horses away of a party that is trying to enter.

Hopefully someone can help me with this!

Kind regards,

Sascha

Please note that the bump period for this group is 30 days, since the group is so enormous.

Ayshe | 4721 comments I'm not sure about the rest, but Praise All the Moons of Morning appears to have telepath lizards:
"Space flight, time travel, a distant planet, lizards that telepath, evil alien (to earthlings) beings, adventure, escaping through time and across country on lizard back, and happy ending in a still further future." Children's Book Review Service, 1978

D.R. Grady (goodreadscomdrgradybooks) There's a female author named Maggie Furey. Is she perhaps the author of the series you're thinking of? Another is Mercedes Lackey.
