I loved the book, and I'm very excited to see the movie wish it comes out. I'll be sure to comment here when I watch it to note the changes they make.

Please do post...TIA! I can't actually go to the movies because of neck problems and I really want to see this one. I have to wait for the DVD to come out.

Ooohhhh~ you said DO post!!! I'm so sorry~ in my haste of reading your reply I thought you said Don't! (That's what I get for checking the posts while I'm at work!) :) I hope I'll have good things to report after I watch the movie
I thought the book was so so. But I think it will make a great movie even though Emily Blunt does not resemble the character of Rachel. After I read the book, I was slightly pissed that "they" said it was like Gone Girl. It was not. Maybe that biased my opinion.

I know right? I'm so tired or books comparing themselves to other books when it's not a good comparison. The Girl on the Train wasn't anything like Gone Girl. I'm also frustrated with the books (marketing) calling themselves thrillers and they're not.
I gave this book a 3 stars because it was only thrilling towards the end. I wanted to know what was going on and that kept me reading. I also think the movie will be better than the movie. I think Emily Blunt was a good choice. Besides being a fabulous actress, she may make Rachel more likable so we have someone to root for.
I hope everyone enjoys the movie. There's suppose to be some surprises. Hopefully they will be good and add to the story.

I'm starting the book today. I hope it's good.
I didn't like the book as much. I went in hoping for a thriller, and it was definitely not. It was more of a mystery with hints at drama. And it was NOTHING at all like Gone Girl. I had a hard time enjoying the book because none of the characters were likable, I felt at most a bit sympathetic towards Rachel. I hope the movie will be better and make the characters more interesting.

The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives.
EVERY DAY THE SAME
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
UNTIL TODAY
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel goes to the police. But is she really as unreliable as they say? Soon she is deeply entangled not only in the investigation but in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
Are you planning on watching the movie when it comes out?
Which was better the book or the movie?
