Beverly (zippymom) | 868 comments 1. Significant other? Children? Pets?

Kevin is my significant other--he's my 3rd husband (I divorced my first and was widowed the second time) and is 16 years younger than me. Luckily, most people think I'm younger than I am and that he's older than he is so we even out. We've been married for 20 years so I think we're doing great!!

Between us we've had 6 children. I had 4 although my oldest son died of colon cancer when he was 20 and he had 2. Now they're all grown with children with the exception of my youngest daughter but we're hoping the man she's met recently might finally be the one--we're cautiously optimistic!! :) So we have 2 20 year old grandsons, 2 14 year old granddaughters and 2 one year old grandsons!!

We have 3 male cats--Tom, Toby and Trouble.

Beverly (zippymom) | 868 comments What do I do for a living.

I'm retired and so I do whatever I want to!! My husband would say that he works so that I can have fun and he's not too far off the mark!! I love to read (well, that's obvious) and belong to 6 book clubs. I also love to go to the movies and plays and any other kind of fun events that I can get too and afford. I also belong to a Red Hat group.

Beverly (zippymom) | 868 comments What destination would be my dream vacation.

There are so many places I would love to see but I'm pretty good at having a great time no matter where I am because you can always see something or learn something new. As long as I can stay in a clean hotel/motel and have great food, you can take me just about anywhere!! My all time favorite place to go is Disney World.

Beverly (zippymom) | 868 comments My favorite book genre.

Here again I'm pretty much all over the place. If forced I would probably say mysterious, paranormal, psychological thrillers and Young Adult literature.

Beverly (zippymom) | 868 comments 3 of my favorite authors:

Stephen King
Dean Koontz
Louise Penny

Beverly (zippymom) | 868 comments My favorite word.

Asinine--I don't know why, I just love the way it sounds but I rarely have a chance to use it. The word I say the most is probably "seriously?"

Beverly (zippymom) | 868 comments What actress would play me in my life story.

I have no idea...Meryl Streep is my all time favorite actress but my kids always said they thought I looked a bit like Mary Steenburgen, who I also like!!

Beverly (zippymom) | 868 comments Here is one of my all time favorite stories:

My husband and I went to our favorite Chinese place for lunch. It was middle of winter and there had been a lot of snow. Most of the parking lot was cleared off but there were still big piles of snow around the lights. When we came out I noticed something stuck in the snow and it turned out to be a photo sleeve, like you see in a wallet. I picked it up and took it home.

I looked through all the pictures, even on the backs. I didn't recognize anyone but there was a last name. Unfortunately it was a fairly common name and I got frustrated after calling 10 or so folks in the phone book and just gave up. So the photo sleeve just laid on my kitchen counter--I just could not bring myself to throw it away. Every time one of my daughters would notice it, they would ask me again why I had held on to it. And I always said, I just can't throw it away...those pictures are important to someone. I know they laid there for over a year.

Then one day at work, my daughter had just recently started a new job at the hospital, she called me and said, "Mom, you are not going to believe this but I found the person who's pictures you found!" She recognized the baby picture on the girl's desk and when she told the girl that I had her photos she even knew where she was when she lost them. She told Andy to tell me I was the bomb diggetty!!!

I know it was just a little thing but it made me feel so good that I had saved those photos and was able to get them back to their owner. Also, small world stories are my absolute favorite!!!
