Jennifer | 15 comments A excellent ending to the trilogy. Book Three picks up right where Book Two left off, and teaches the reader about the Birmingham church bombing, the Voting Rights Act and the Selma march.

It's not very common that books that come later in a series win Printz awards or honors, but it does happen. They must be able to stand alone without having to read the other books.

I think there's a good chance that this book could see a medal. The drawings in this book were somehow more powerful than in the first two. There was an energy to them that really pulled me into the story. And the narrative non-fiction text was complex, moving, and literary.

Chime in, and let me know what you think!
