Robert (robertgilescampbell) | 13 comments Hi I'm Rob. I'm into books go figure lol. OK so here's me...I started reading later in life(mid 20's Now I'm in my mid 30's). Started with Fantasy exclusively for a few years. I found my favorite authors when I read The Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy and realized a book could make me laugh! So in search of more comedy, I found Terry Pratchett AKA My favorite author.

OK now why I'm here, only this year I decided to expand my horizons and read anything and everything that interests me. so I came to good reads hunting for book clubs to help me find books. Lately I've really been intrigued by Gay, Bisexual and Trans books. Just read a fantastic one that featured a cross dresser called Painted Faces(5 stars).

Looking for more Trans Romance To be honest Actually I cannot even say more because I have yet to read any....currently though I have Just started Roller Girl by Vanessa North, Anyone read that one?

And I tend to ramble on at length lol. I love to chat books and make new GR Friends :-)

Regards

Rob

LOL you said the magic word--Hitchhiker's Guide is my favorite book of all time, though lately I've been on more of a historical nonfiction kick.

Welcome to the group!

Robert (robertgilescampbell) | 13 comments Hi Eileen...Thanks! I like history too but very much only watching or listening to, as in podcasts. I tried reading it but haven't found any authors who write such that I enjoy it.

Tim | 152 comments Hi Rob, Welcome! I read all over the map when it comes to genre. Really like changing it up and usually alternate between serious or historical reads and lighter fiction. Good to have you in the group!

Welcome Robert! I've enjoyed Hitchhiker's, but the miniseries (BBC) more that the book. Strange this.

Robert (robertgilescampbell) | 13 comments Hello Tim and Bill. I'm still very much feet planted in fantasy, I like the escapism. Leave the real world behind. But I am learning to enjoy all genres.

I heard about the Hitchhiker's mini series BBC but I haven't heard anything good or bad about it till now. I'm going to have to see if I can find it online.

:)

Greg Welcome Robert!

Terry Pratchett is great - I've read a few by him and enjoyed all of them, especially the surprisingly entertaining story about mice The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents. A friend of mine bought it for me as a gift, and I loved it!

A very Gay epic fantasy is The Last Herald Mage byMercedes Lackey There are many many novels in the Valdemar series, several with Gay characters.

Alexandra (little_alex) | 591 comments Try Storm Constantine's Wraeththu series. It's a fight between humans and a new race called the Wraeththu, who are all true hermaphrodites.

Robert (robertgilescampbell) | 13 comments Cool recommendations, tacked them both on to my 'to read' list for now. I'm going to keep an eye out for them for sure. :-)
