Language Learning 101 discussion

So some things you should know when it comes to starting off are these simple phrases. They can be used to start a conversation or just whenever appropriate.

> Hello - Ciao (pronounced as Ch - ow)

**Note that Ciao can ALSO be used when saying bye. It's a casual manner.

> Good day - Buon giorno (This can also start a conversation and is used often)
> A domani - See you tomorrow
> Arrivederci - Another leaving verb. **Don't get confused because it has the English word "arrive" in it. It actually means the opposite.**
> A piu tardi - See you later

Make sure the accent is on più :)

Salve is also used as hello, and is pronounced "sal-way" (it's Latin, not Italian; v is usually v, not w)

In Vietnamese, 'chao' (similar to ciao) can be used for goodbye or hello :p

>Come si chiama? - What is your name? (Literally, 'what do you call yourself?')
>Mi chiamo _______ - My name is _____ (literally, I call myself ___)

>Un piacere or just piacere - A Pleasure to meet you

> Comè stai? - How are you?

You can answer as fits:
> Sto bene - I am good
> Sto cosi cosi - I am so-so or ok
> Sto male - I am bad
