What Other Genres Do You Enjoy?

I'll be the first to admit I'm an eclectic reader. I enjoy Christian Fiction to Southern Fiction and dirty romances and everything in between. XD
Some genres and books that I recommend:
Amish Fiction: I've been fascinated by the Amish since I was a little girl. We have a Amish community within driving distance of where I live and it's not uncommon to see them at the grocery store or at the hospital. So, naturally, I love reading about the culture, too. If your at all interest in the genre, I recommend starting with any book written by Beverly Lewis. She practically pioneered the genre and does a great job of introducing characters to the world of the Amish. Incidentally, my favorite Amish series isn't by her, but by another good writer, Cindy Woodsmall and starts with the book A Season for Tending.
Christian Fiction: Anything by Karen Kingsbury. She was the one who really introduced me to the Christian Fiction genre. She's a fantastic writer and many of her books deal with real, tough issues people face. She's inspirational and really manages to capture God's message in her books. Definitely check her out if you're a Christian!
Cozy Mysteries: I really liked the Southern Sisters mysteries series by Anne George, as well as the Amish mysteries written by Vannetta Chapman.
Southern Fiction: Since I was born and raised in the south, I love reading books that take place in my backyard. Some of my favorites are Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe, The Help, The Secret Life of Bees, and Bastard Out of Carolina. (Be warned, the last book is very dark and deals with issues of abuse, particularly sexual abuse. There were many times I had to put the book down because I got so sickened and frustrated. But that is precisely the reason I love it and respect it as a great work of fiction. Some of the best books, in my opinion, deal with hard issues that other authors wouldn't even touch.)
Romance/Erotica: I know, I know. But it's my guilty pleasure. XD Some of my favorites are the breathless series by Maya Banks as well as Wallbanger by Alice Clayton.
I think that's about it! I hope I helped give you some awesome titles to look into! =)

All I read are YA books, because I have a strange fear of Adult books, but I read a bunch of different genres within YA.
-Paranormal
-Sci-fi/Dystopian
-Fantasy
-Contemporary
I will practically read any genre in YA.
I know I said that I only read YA, but I also have a guilty pleasure of reading Middle Grade books from time to time. I read a lot of Margaret Peterson Haddix and Rick Riordan And I, of course, read Harry Potter. Some other ones are: The School for Good and Evil, The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls, The Year of Shadows, The Name of This Book Is Secret, The Mysterious Benedict Society, and Liesl & Po.
I mainly read YA, but, yeah, I also enjoy Middle Grade. I want to read some Adult books as well, but I always fear that I won't understand them since I'm not an adult (which is ridiculous since I'm almost 18)! But if you know any good adult books, I will take recommendations!

Yeah, but we all kinda knew it was going to happen eventually. :/ The newest series they're working on is actually the prequel series, so it's entirely new characters. They're worth a read, as well as the Super Editions.
Also, Jayfeather is epic. Just sayin' XD

Aww, Jessica. XD Adult books aren't all that different from YA or NA books; you just have to find ones that interest you.
All the ones I listed in Southern Fiction are "adult" books, but I read and enjoyed half of them when I was your age or even younger. (I'm pretty sure I read Fried Green Tomatoes and Secret Life of Bees in my first year of high school, at age 14.) I read Bastard Out of Carolina at 18 and didn't get a chance to read The Help until I was 20 or so, simple because it's a newer release. But I loved all of them and they come highly recommended. (But be warned about Bastard Out of Carolina - that's a difficult one.)
I also like Jodi Picoult books. She tends to write about all sorts of things, so you might like her work, too. I've read My Sister's Keeper and Plain Truth and enjoyed them both.
Also, Water for Elephants is good, too. :)
Hope that helped! Don't be afraid to embrace the genre!

Oh yeah, I read Janet Evanovich for a while back when I was in high school. I think I got to the fifth book before I got distracted. XD
