Section 1

Please keep all discussion and speculation to the events of Chapters 17-34.

No spoiler tags required. Though it would be highly appreciated if you Uncheck Add to my Update Feed to avoid accidentally spoiling things for your good read friends.

Please do not discuss events from later sections/books. Referring back to events from a previous section/book is fine.

Suzanne | 1582 comments Now that story is happening, I'm enjoying this a lot. I like the whole interaction of Tsis and the Mighty (and Kip).

But wow Dazen/Gavin being the black Prism? The way he got his powers, and maintained them....I didn't see that coming at all.

So I tried to take brief notes for each section, probably not going to be complete sentences all the time..

Quentin gets a reprieve from Karis

What was up with the three headed dog thing during the execution?

The mighty goes to war. Why is Kip's wife insisting on coming?

I didn't realize the revelation about the Black Prism came in this section. I agree I didn't see that coming either. I'm not sure how I feel about Dazen now.

Suzanne | 1582 comments Ack I hope I didn't pre-say that - I THINK it was in this section, but since I'm listening - and audible SAYS its chapter 33 well - then i'm ok going by that :)

I'm not positive why Kip's wife wants to come other than - this is her first time she is a non-prisoner. I'm liking her a bit more - I really like how she interacts with the team and doesn't just make Kip stick up for her.

As far as the three headed dog - so weird. NO idea about that one yet.

Oh, I'm sure you're right. I had a hard time of keeping track of what chapter I was on. I vaguely went by my original split, every 4 hours makes a new section to have a rough idea where I was.

Daniel Clouser | 16 comments I think Tisis insisted on going with Kip because she didn't want to end up in Eirene's clutches. Remember the way she treated Gavin/Dazen in the last book? Whatever Tisis gained from her marriage to Kip, she would lose it all if she got stuck under Eirene's control, without anyone else there to speak up for her. Just like Kip got disowned by Andross the very second Gavin's back was turned, you can rest assured that someone in the Malargos clan would find a way to mess everything up for her if she found herself isolated from everyone who could advocate for her interests.

Suzanne | 1582 comments I'm really liking how Tisis is trying to be a genuine contributor and not just eye candy.

Good thoughts Daniel. That makes sense.
