Well, I finished it already. Couldn't put it down! I loved it and have many thoughts. But I can't wait to hear what other people think so we can get the conversation started.
Is anyone currently reading it?

I finished the book last night. And I liked it, but didnt love it as much as Max did. I thought the story was engaging and touched on very important themes, but at times, I struggled with the structure of the book a bit, especially the dream sequences & the flashbacks which often occured just when the story hit a crucial point and they seem to unnecessarily slow down the plotline. And in the beginning I had some difficulties to relate to the main character. It might also be that I compared Okparanta too much with Adichie which is a bit unfair, probably (I read Purple Hibiscus just before Udala Trees), but I felt that Adichie is the more powerful writer.

But seriously, I think that I just kept comparing her to Adichie, and her like Adichie's style better. But I am planning on rereading it, because I think the book deserves a second read (without the Adichie next to it). And: I am glad you picked it, and glad I read it!!
50 pages in and I'm really liking it!!! In fact i read 5 pages before I slept and I wanted to continue so badly that I woke at 4 am.
