Hope walked in with her big stack of papers that she'd been filling out for about forever and a year.

The woman at the counter stood up. "Are you here to apply?"

"Yeah. I'm just here to turn in my form," Hope said with a bright smile as she hadn't the lady her papers.

Hope shrugged. "Why not? If I don't like anyone on my lists its not the end of the world. Being a bad match wouldn't really dent my family's reputation or anything." She grinned. "I'm Hope Haven, what's your name?"

Hope laughed and shook her hand. "I'm sure it was!" She moved out of the way so Adlis could hand the lady her own papers.

The lady smiled at Hope. "You'll receive your first list around this time next year." Then she turned to Adlis.

"Don't worry. If you go to school with him there's a high chance he'll be on one of your lists," the lady said, passing the papers to another lady at the desk beside her.

Hope snickered. "So, who's this boyfriend of yours? He sounds very special."

Hope grinned. Girly girls were always her favourite people to talk to. "That's so sweet!"

"What's his name?" Hope asked, putting herself into a girly attitude to match Adlis's.

"Aww. How cute!" Hope chirped.

"Because...?" Hope pressed.

"So tragic," Hope agreed. "I can't say I've ever been in your position, but I feel your pain."

"Yes, I would." Hope nodded solemnly.

The lady nodded and smiled. "You girls have a good day."

"You too," Hope replied to her, then she looked at Adlis. "Ready when you are!"

Hope grinned and stepped into the beam.
