Action/Adventure Aficionados discussion

I just finished reading a debut book by K. Patrick Donoghue that I have given my rare 5 star rating. The book is titled "Shadowns of the Stone Benders" and it combines the sci-fi genre with that of the murder mystery and does so in a masterful manner. The plot involves the supposed accidental death of a controversial archeologist that has discovered the existence of an ancient civilization. This 10,000 year old civilization had technology so advanced as to be rival anything in the contemporary world. The protagonist is the nephew of the archeologist that inherits his uncle's estate and his research. Before a colleague of the uncle can fully inform the nephew of his suspicions regarding the uncle's death and his research the colleague is murdered. The nephew then joins forces with a female friend and a female detective tasked with solving the colleague's death. This book is a lot of fun and this author is quite talented and one that we will be hearing from in the future.
