What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

So this book was about a pre-teen girl named Ida. I only remember that's her name because in her class at school they were putting on a skit about greek mythology and some girl we'll call popular girl made fun of ida and said she should play as Mt. Ida in the story. It was the story of how Zeus and his brothers were born and then swallowed by their father Kronos. Ida's best friend played Kronos and put a basketball under her shirt to look like she had eaten them.
So Ida's best friend is into playing basketball. (She's a girl)
Popular girl is always bragging about how she's the first girl in their class to wear a bra.
Later in the story the school puts on a play of Peter Pan.
Ida's mother is obsessed with Ida playing Wendy because she played that when she was Ida's age. She even gives Ida the nightgown she wore as a costume. Ida is trying to figure out how to tell her mother that she really wants to play tinker bell.
It doesn't matter, because she gets the part of Tiger Lily. She's a little disappointed, but okay with it. Later she remarks that she really likes her tiger lily costume and describes it, but I can't remember.
Ida's best friend gets the part of Wendy. She's been slowly ditching Ida for popular girl. Ida mentioned she was annoyed how Wendy had a southern accent like in gone with the wind instead of a british accent.

I have a few more details, and I think they're from the same book, but they might be from a different book that I'm mixing it up with: the girl had a cat named Mudd that died and got buried in the backyard. She wrote a poem called Ode to Mudd. She had an older brother. The cover had an ugly picture of her with straight brown hair and a wide mouth.

I read this book (or both of them if they are different books) in mid to late 00's.

Reading your description, I remember this reading this book too! Didnt she end up doing the lighting for the play and it was beautiful?

I don't remember, but I guess I'll read it and find out! When I was a pre-teen I sped through so many of this type of book that they all got mixed up in my head.
